I’ve been waiting for this episode for 2 years, ever since I discovered Jim Finley. This episode was literally a dream come true, and it did not disappoint. A sincere thank you for making this happen.

What a shame that a discussion like This doesn’t have a million people viewing it , but rather we watch people vlog about their life and all The things they have and we don’t .. we watch people debate and yell and argue and here sits a gift like this conversation . Thank you pete Holmes

I love James Finley. I treat deeply traumatized overcomers in the same way he talks of the process. It’s wonderful to know someone who has the same understanding. He surpasses Merton to me. A wonderful book about Union with God is Madame Jean Guyon The Song of the Bride.

We may need some ‘what a gift’ merch in the works so we can identify our fellow weirdos in the world. (: One to bookmark for life. Thank you for taking us along with you on this beautiful path 🤍 Michael Singer would be an amazing guest!

I was looking for something that could stop the mindless RU-vid scrolling so I could drift off to sleep. I had the beginnings of an awakening experience that continues to unfold after listening to James on Buddha at the Gas Pump. While I have no affinity for Christianity but the themes James speaks to are the precious ore that is at the core of all wisdom traditions

something about his voice just doesn't travel in my house. I'm trying to wash dishes (in the other room), as he's talking about washing dishes, and I have to keep coming back and turning it up. lol

There was another funny story about my sister's dog Gandalf. Her house at that time was tiny and Gandalf would take up the whole living room. There was a fire and my sister ran out with her daughter. When the firepeople came she said her dog was still in there, and one of the fieremen who loved dogs actually went in after him. Because the house was so small he had a tiny dog in his mind and he was crawling under the smoke and Gandalf very friendly all of a sudden stuck his giant face in front of him, shocking him. ❤😂❤

When the both of them were speaking of their daughters and the privilege people have today of seemingly endless supplies of ice cream or other rich foods, children can gain more appreciation for these things by reading stories true ones of children deprived of these things. In the Diary of Anne Frank she describes the last time her and her family were able to go out in public. It was her birthday, I think her 12th, and they were still allowed to go into an Ice Cream Parlor (she called it), and buy Ice Cream, which became her birthday party, and her last memory of a happy outing with her family. Pete looks too young to remember Baileys Ice Cream Parlor on Park St in Boston that is no longer there. But in the 60s when I was a child and we went on a trip to Boston we always went there. They maintained it with that turn of the 20th Century look.

The talk on inhaling and exhaling starting around 10 mins reminded me of a true story my sister told me years ago about her Great Dane dog whom they had named Gandalf from the Lord of the Rings. She had put out a 5 pound lump of raw hamburger on the counter to defrost. It was just about thawed and she turned her head for a very short maybe 30seconds and she turned around and it was gone!. Gandalf made no noise and no indication of choking down 5pounds of hamburger in less than 30seconds unless she lost track of time. She was stunned crying, and Gandalf was innocent looking at her. It is just as Jesus says in Scripture to behold, he comes as a thief😂!!!! I figure that the dog actually inhaled it. It is the only way possible in that length of time and they are capable of swallowing large whole things almost like a snake. I witnessed it once seeing a dog ingest a whole chicken with only one leg missing. He was growling and there was no way to take it back away from him. He did not sit down because he was defensive growling and somehow without choking he sucked it all in in a very short time not more than 2minutes.😅
