James Forrest has consistently come up with big goals at important moments (eg Karagandy). He’s the first player to score a hatrick for Scotland since 1969. He is without a doubt one of our best players and a fantastic servant to the club. He certainly deserves more respect and appreciation than he regularly gets on this podcast. It seems like there is much more patience with foreign players than any of our homegrown lads. Mikey Johnson has been sensational in the English championship, which is a much better league than the SPL. I wonder why? Ferguson and Doig are doing really well in Serie A. Again, a better league than the SPL. Scottish players are now realising that they need to move abroad, it seems, to develop as players and be appreciated. (Ben Doak, the most recent example).
You can't use the word "consistently" then list something from a decade ago in Karagandy. That's the opposite of consistent. And Mikey Johnston had a good month but has since been subbed off in 7 consecutive games. He's had plenty of chances. It's been 8 years.
@@20MinuteTims Well, I could list the number of times I have watched him (Forrest) come up with goals and assists in important moments, or you could just look his Wikipedia page (goals in cup finals etc,) . I just thought the Karagandy game was a good example of him coming up with a big moment, It wasn't meant to be an exhaustive list. I just assumed as a Celtic fan ( I don't know for how long , for me it's be more than 40 years) you would have had to grudgingly admit that he deserves more credit than he gets. As for the point about Mikey Johnson - the lad is clearly a talent, and is now proving it in a much better league than the SPFL. The bigger point, which you failed to address, is why young Scottish lads such as Doak, Ferguson, Doig, Hickey etc, feel the need to go abroad to reach their potential rather than stay in Scotland? Maybe it's because (home based) fans like yourself seem to have more patience with mediocre foreign players such as Kuhn, Yang and Maeda (who can't cross a ball to save his, life by the way) than to home grown Scottish talent such as Welsh, Ralston or Turnbull (The only player we had that could regularly score from outside the box). Unless we give decent opportunities and support to the products of our own youth system, like clubs such as Barcelona, then we will continue to be a stepping stone for foreign talent on the way up, or a last payday for good players past their sell by date (Again, I could give you a list). There we are. I've made my point. I 'll let you get back to your echo chamber.
@@KelvinYork67They don't need to go abroad. They're being purchased by foreign teams and it's a good opportunity for them. You've just made this thing about fans holding them back up in your head.
Baffles me that we haven't been playing forrest more, when he's played he's not looked like he's missed a game, compared to say khun who maybe needed to settle in to the regime of a champion mentality, yang hasn't settled and forrest has been doing it for years... some people have it at that age and some don't. Forrest has it or is at least making it work so do we continue to start forrest for the remainder of the season?
Kuhn and others need to look at videos of Forrest and learn to cross the ball or take a shot from outside the box. Its a frstrating watch, seeing them trying to walk the ball into the goal. Kyogi must be pulling his lovely hair out.
Brendan had already said he played guys like Yang to try get him up to speed , James has just took it on the chin and got on with it ! Yang couldn’t lace james boots , Palma thinks he’s Jota and Bernardo is an excellent player we should sign 100% I can’t understand why PB can’t get a game Idah needs to start on Saturday as we simply can’t feed Kyogo
100% scales isn’t great but he is making it barely work . Till the end . 3 points at all costs . Trow the kitchen sink at it and get this league done 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🤣🤣🤣🤣🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉🙉☘️☘️☘️☘️🇮🇪🇮🇪💪💪💪💪💪💪
McGregor is outstanding and by far my player of the year for years, but this year has not had it at all, I get BR is prob trying to get him fit so he makes it for Scotland as he deserves it but to risky this close to season
McGregor was really poor. We are really predictable. Man mark McGregor and it nullifies our midfield (how he cant shake one player is another matter) Let Scales have as much time on the ball as possible as he will either pass it back, slow down play or completely miss a 5 yarder. Lump the ball down the left and watch Taylor and Scales panic. Let our "wingers" come inside as it will congest the park even more.
Our midfield is running out of steam. Get Iwata in for McGregor until he is fully fit and get Bernardo on for his industry early 2nd half for either Hatate or O’Reilly.
@@gzz8551 well start Iwata and put him on the bench. McGregor is a shadow of himself at the moment and could be a massive liability in the remaining games like he was at Ibrox.
Seem to be hanging our hats on wee Jamsie . One of our most important players in the last 15 years is invaluable at present . This is not exciting it’s absolute pain.. it’s pretty much a case of shit and shitter stumbling nervously towards the finish line . Why are we so poor ? Granted we did lose a few top players and injuries but we also spent 24 mil .. surely it’s reasonable to expect a bit of domination when playing teams who have a transfer budget of £2.40 and a packet of hubba bubba .. people are speaking of Forrest as a pensioner .. some of the best track athletes in the world are 30 plus.. personally think the injuries took a brutal toll .. wouldn’t be surprised if he pushes on for another season or two .
Do you think both Lagerbeilke and Nawrocki are both sold in the summer along with other duds or do both go dependant on 2 new cb's coming in ? Honorable mention to Scales being in favour over them.
@@20MinuteTims same, unless there is an incredible turn around with them in the summer I don't see either staying. Cheers for the reply, keep up the great content lads.
I think Kuhn is fine - he causes defences a lot of bother, shows for the ball and with a full pre-season I think he can only improve. Palma can potentially be good, but he needs to screw the nut and be a bit smarter. When you're a goal to the good, it's absolutely fine to just kill the pace of the game, hold the ball up and use your skill to draw a foul or buy time.
We won. Will be nail biting but will take 4 wins however we get them until end of season. Then if BR doesnt get properly backed - pitchfork is getting dusted down
Stop picking on Scales and Forrest they both give their heart and soul for Celtic. Focus on the board and shit management structure that is the real problem!!!
@@gzz8551Brendan has the gift of the gab as a manager he is bang average.....bang average is good enough to win the SPL eg.Ronny,Lenny and Steve G.... however the Celtic Board are worse than useless!!!
you need your senior players now because they're not fighting to impress or trying to win contracts they can prioritise the team over their own performance
@@20MinuteTims r we talking about trophies here naw we aren’t . Talking about who’s performing the best and the awnswer is butland . Get a grip lads cmon . I’ll still give u a sub though
