It's hard to judge a really good team against a really bad team, but what I'd like to see from Penn State: 1. More points scored than Pitt 2. Shut out or a field goal allowed at most 3. Absolute domination at the line on both sides of the football 4. Few penalties or mistakes (interceptions, fumbles, dropped passes, etc.) 5. Better tackling, especially after last week's showing Penn State will obviously win, and things are a little excusable when backups of backups get put in, but there should be signs of improvement over last week.
Penn State's offense has to be quicker and more precise. They have to spread the ball around to different WRs. Last game the offense had 13 receptions with 8 of them by Warren. Allar still has to scramble too much. He can beat slower teams to get first downs. He will get sacked by OSU. We'll see. This week's game should be a yawner with excitement from seeing new guys on the field. They have one more week to get sharp. But after that, the B1G season starts. No game will be an automatic W.
It's easy to sit and critique everything!!!! Have you watched everything that has happened in college football so far, only week 4 coming up? We will be fine, literally!!!! WE ARE
Alabama recognizes Saban by renaming the stadium...what does Penn State do with one of the greatest.....tear his statue down...do their best to forget about him.
Saban got out while the getting was good. The program started to decline his final 2-3 seasons. DeBoer is a breath of fresh air. He's already outrecruiting Saban. They needed the change to keep Georgia and Texas from getting away from them.
@robsherrill8130 No, you didn't? His point is that our program is a sorry ass program that doesn't honor success, that's blatantly obvious when tou see who's at the helm for us right now.
Paterno did not do enough when he found out Paterno was abusing those young boys. He could have done more but he did not. For that he does not deserve to be honored
Watch tennesee beat Kent state then watch us play em. You’ll see a difference. We don’t know how to put the pedal to the metal. Maybe we can’t but I think it will look very different.
We say that this team wants to get into the the 12 team playoffs this year. If so they should start all their second stringers (get them some work ). Kent st has not won a game yet and last week Tennessee beat them 71 to nothing. So rest the starters the whole game. If ever you were going to do it this is the game.
You can't that!!!! Lol You need the starters to get a rhythm, it's still early in the season, then if you take care of business, then the 2nd and 3rd string players can get much needed reps!!!! WE ARE
And who do you recommend Penn State gets to replace him? How many coaches have won more games in the last decade, and how many of that handful do you think they have a chance of landing?
@nathanscottphillips1 Almost anybody could win the number of games he's won with how bad the schedules have been. Besides, it's not about what he's done, it's about what he hasn't, and he hasn't done anything of note in a decade.

@bluejay3945 Honestly, Kotelneki. He was such an innovator last year as a coordinator, but it seems like no matter what coordinator we bring in here, it's the same formations under Franklin. We need change offensively. Our defense will be fine no matter who is there, but since Franklin has a history of coaching offense, I feel like he ruins our chance of being explosive on offense. I think Kotelneki will be a young, smart, fiery coach who will still be able to attract top talent while being able to produce results against great teams.
