Today On The Daily Distraction, James Gunn has confirmed during his DCU Chapter 1 Gods and Monsters movie slate reveal that the upcoming Blue Beetle movie WILL be a part of his DCU, as it doesn't have anything tying it to the old DCEU that will be reset with The Flash movie!

Honestly that’s potential for crossover due to the fact blue beetle doesn’t really need a second movie, he needs a show WITH Booster Gold.😊

Depends on the reception of the film. But it was originally supposed to be release to hbo max. Apparently it's good enough to be a blockbuster / Canon potentially

@@AcaciusBanger dceu and dcu is different. Prior superman legacy or maybe blue beetle, all the cinematic movies are called dceu, while the new reboot will be called dcu

Not really because Bumblebee is a prequel. Blue Beetle is supposed to take place in a rebooted universe but James Gunn for whatever reason now claims the film is DCEU canon but the character himself is DCU canon which makes no sense.

It flopping has more to do with ppl not understanding that Blue Beetle was canon to the DCU, poor marketing, superhero fatigue, and probably some ppl just not knowing or caring enough about the character.

I hope Zachary Levi and Asher Angel keep playing Shazam and Billy batson in Hopefully in DCU 🙏👍. He was so good playing Shazam who's the best actor to play Shazam he hasn't have connected to dceu he's been on his own it would be better for him if he joined James Gunn DCU project I'm just saying

The Blue Beetle movie takes place later in the timeline. but also remember that Gunn said Superman Legacy is not an origin story but will be taking place in his early years as Superman. so it's pretty easy to fit Blue Beetle in that timeline since we never actually see Cavill or BatFlekk. Gunn already said in the DC announcement that Blue Beetle is in the DCU, so how it will fit remains to be seen 👍

Either this quote is inaccurate, we’re getting some multiverse shenanigans, Gunn is dumb or we’re getting a ton of movies canceled because that last part just can’t be true. There’s no way the Batman part 2 and joker and Harley Quinn or whatever they’re calling it are gonna be a part of the dcu. And he supposedly said it’s all gonna be connected. Either someone’s wrong here or there’s a big multiverse thing that just got revealed. Or hopefully not but it is possible those all get cancelled
