Gunn and Snyder both share the same enthusiasm, passion, and energy for DC. The only difference is that Gunn knows how to write proper stories that resonate with the majority of the audience and critics.
I'm not a DC guy outside of "some" of the Batman films but when Gunn got involved and started talking about stuff that wasn't just another Batman, Superman, Justice League... I was interested. Peacemaker and the newer Suicide Squad is a great example of breaking away from the comfort zone that DC has been stuck in for the past few decades. Give me more stuff that I've never heard of or know very little about because that's interesting and the kind of shot in the arm that superhero films need right now.
lol I’m the complete opposite. I’m a huge dc fan and I’ve honestly just wanted a GOOD adaptation of the dc universe into movies(not animated bc the dc animated movies are gods gift)with heroes I’ve known and loved my whole life. I want a great Superman movie, a great Batman movie, a great green lantern project same with flash. And I want them to be interconnected too. I’ve genuinely never seen it happen good on the big screen and I just can’t wait. The other projects such as peacemaker and creature commandos are cool but honestly I’m not really interested in them right now, I just want to see the heroes I’ve loved since a child come to the big screen with good writing, effects and all that
@@air3832i would love to see horror movies with dc villains like upside down man and other dc characters. Make it like old horror movie were main cast it's just normal humans.
Agreed dude I was fairly young when the first guardians dropped and I’d never read a guardians comic book but that movie was so good to me. I feel like gunns specialty is bringing in characters we don’t know and making them super relevant, it’s the main reason I think dc has allowed him to greenlight all of these off the cuff projects.
@@joseabreu-nn5cuThunderbolts isn't even Thunderbolts and all of those characters have to regress their character development to make that movie work.
Surpassing Marvel is a stretch bro, DC are far from doing that remember Marvel was untouchable for almost 15 years straight. Let see DC dominate for 10 years straight then we'll talk about surpassing Marvel.
@siphosethumbaba7559 bruh I'm talking about GOOD comicbook content. Marvel has always has shitty villains and subpar scripts that get either carried by actors or the rare chance they allow a storyteller to do their thing
I like the more comic accurate direction James seems to be taking with the DC Universe. And I also like that he’s branching out and showing us some lesser known characters like the Creature Commandos and bringing them into the mainstream. Don’t get me wrong, characters like Batman and Superman are great and I always enjoy seeing them, but DC has such a vast catalogue of unique characters with a wealth of stories to tell. Seeing characters like Mr Terrific and Guy Gardner being featured in the Superman movie is really cool and gives me hope that we may finally see some more obscure characters in live action, including one of my personal favorites: The Question. 👍
He really likes graphic t-shirts. But that doesn't work well when you want to wear a suit. I think he should wear a pin. Like the Superman pin recently released on the DC shop.
@Chadcat180 the guy who ruined GOTG for the fans who actually read their comics before he done a movie??? Nah he's a hack , him and Taiki Waiti are literally the same director. They can't do a serious movie to save their lives🤦♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣
As if I wasn’t already amped for the DCU.. this interview with Gunn and the cast has me even more excited. The passion and excitement coming from the cast and the creative is infectious. Lets go!
Always love Alan Tudyk being a house hold actor in DC brand similar to my Guy Gardner actor who plays Hal, Steve, and other roles for DC animated works. DC Fanboy for life!
@@randynguyen9778 what?! If and when the mcu is no longer profitable a few decades from now will they revert to the raimi/blade/Affleck daredevil era? Youre a Snyder fan fine. It will not return
My most anticipated movies thus far 10. Five Nights at Freddy's 9. JW: Rebirth 8. Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow 7. Beetlejuice 2 6. Twisters 5. Spider-Man 4 4. Mission Impossible 8 3. The Batman 2 2. Scream 7 1. Superman
@@randynguyen9778 I liked Snyder films. But his results were far to be succesful. Snyderverse fans are smaller than DC potential fans. Some of them (all the exteme ones) are not even DC fans. So keep on that direction is not a way to give DC love, it’s just a way to lose other money.
I saw one on twitter that quote tweeted the clip of James thanking everyone for their support to which they cheer, and he said “This is so sad.” The cope is insane.
@@iambuhlockay8007 wow not all Snyder fans but the toxic ones are truly in their own world far detached from reality Jesus Christ. These losers need help.
If there's one thing Marvel will never have, it's the drama of DC fans. For all the strife it causes, DC fans honestly just seem more passionate about what they want. I think it comes from the longer history of the DC characters and the distinct versions that so many films have given Batman and Superman. Compared to Marvel which for the past 10+ years has kept everything fairly consistent in the MCU so fans can't complain.
@@ScreenBrief True. I myself don't really care about MCU where I even read spoilers whatever but for DC stuff I stay away from the spoilers and I only care couple of characters from MCU and like some of them even the loose canon characters like Logan Fox the dead one, Blade by Snipe, Nic Cage GR, Steve Cap, Jessica Jones, Norm Hulk and recently Racoon after the GOTG 3 where Gunn shattered my heart when he reveal Racoon backstory, I knew that Racoon has deep background story and why his like that in his attitude throughout all the movies he was in before GOTG3.

I’m not a fan of Gunn or his work, but I will admit that I am impressed with how well he works with casts and other collaborators, and how they all have a mutual love respect for each other. I just want a great DC connected universe that I look forward to. I am hyped for Lanterns mainly because of Aaron Pierre. I wish I had the same level of hype Superman (my favorite hero), but I’ll give it a chance.
Heaven knows how long as a DC fan I've been waiting to hear positive news about DC and updates about projects that actually come out sooner or later. Also to have someone passionate about comics and have proven their mettle like James Gunn as CEO is a promising thing
I can’t wait for this show it’s a new. Dc team I never heard of and when I heard James Gunn is the big boss I’m so excited it’s going to be so fun and exciting
As a lifelong, long time DC Fan, first, the DC Comics All-In Intiative has just launched from DC ALL-IN Special #1 to Absolute Batman, Justice League Unlimited and vice versa and now, we are welcome into the DCU what James Gunn and Peter Safran is building. I'm so excited because where in the new era of the DC Multiverse, out with the old, in with the new
Yeah I’m absolutely excited for the DCU and believe it’ll be successful. I believe Superman will be a big hit next year and pave the way for a proper DC cinematic universe. Yeah fight me.
Heaven knows how long DC fans have waited to hear exciting news more often than cancellations and false promises. Also the fact of fleshing out the universe rather than focusing on few characters.
After Joker2 dropped the ball, even though its not a DCU project but has the branding plus the disappointment from the previous management I cannot imagine. Here's hoping. Thankfully Penguin is performing miracles right now and maybe that'll carry it until legacy.
The Snyder stans miss their boy talking about how cool, badass, edgy this character and that character is 😭😭😭 Instead of talking about their unique story and character development
@@randynguyen9778 You mean when Batman/Superman/Wonder Woman together on the big screen for the first time was a failure critically, couldn't hit a billion and even Aquaman was more successful??? Yep you right, good times 🤣
@@randynguyen9778 If Aquaman of all heroes was the most profitable character in the Snyderverse, then it's a failure. Not to mention only one Snyderverse film (the guy who talks to fish) cracked in the top 5 most successful DC films all time, adjusting for inflation of course. Get over yourself
The worst thing about DCU is this attempt to require watching not only films, but also television shows and animated projects. This is the problem with the MCU, right now. Too much obligatory consumption of stuff. To understand a 2 hour film you’ll need to watch a 7 hour show or 5 hour animated show. When you have a 4 year contract (like Gunn does Nov 2022 - Nov 2026), you want to do as much WORK as possible to get PAID as much as possible, regardless of whether this helps the DCU or not. Even though this troubles me, I am EXTREMELY hyped to see DC succeed!
As he's stated you don't HAVE to watch everything. If anything is relevant from a previous project it will be mentioned and explained in whatever you are watching, not like Marvel who in Multiverse of Madness never explain why Wanda is evil lol
Man hearing this from the cast and watching the trailer has me interested I am not even going to lie I had no interest in watching creature commandos but that trailer drilled me right back in and looking forward to it can’t wait for the Future of The Dcu
@@randynguyen9778 keep on dreaming lil bro your living a. Fantasy life that won’t ever happen and plus didn’t Zack say he is done with making dc movies 💀
Take it as you will, but i heard from an insider that creature commandos was doing secret screenings and theyve told them that its not only amazing, but its a straight masterpiece reaching the levels of the penguin
Yeah so he made the what's canon and what's not canon situation even more confusing. So we're supposed to know what's still canon based on what's mentioned? Are you serious? Is there going to be an explanation for the picking and choosing of what's coming over to this new universe?
@isaiahmorris7856 there is no any confusion he said some time back that good DC stories will be repeated,so if some thing is mentioned while we already watched it some where in old DC projects like from DCEU,animations or TV Shows ( it will mean that as well it happened in the new universe simultaneously ) it seems some events have happened in both universes DCEU and DCU simultaneously ( The characters who are coming back for DCU will be variants )
I'm not a DC fan or a Marvel fan, I'm a CBM fan. I don't want A to be better than B, i want both to be great. I don't want to see something that's made because of competition or money, I want to see something that's made because of love and passion.
We NEED competition for MARVEL to get scared enough to give us GREAT MCU content to rival DC. If there’s NO competition, we get what PHASE 4 was: just ehh…..??
