James Harden joins Allen Iverson (3x) as the only players in 76ers franchise history to score 40+ points in multiple games of a Playoff series.
Before James Harden, Kevin Durant in the 2012 semifinals for OKC vs Lakers was the last player to have two different go ahead game-winning shots with under 20 seconds remaining in a single playoff series:
Durant made game-winning field goals in Game 2 (18.6 secs left) and Game 4 (13.7 secs left)
Led by James Harden’s 42 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists, including the go-ahead three with 19.0 seconds remaining in overtime, the No. 3 seed Philadelphia 76ers defeated the No. 2 seed Boston Celtics in Game 4, 116-115. Joel Embiid added 34 points and 13 rebounds for the 76ers in the victory, while Jayson Tatum tallied 24 points, 6 assists, 4 blocks and a career-high 18 rebounds for the Celtics. This best-of-seven series is now tied, 2-2, with Game 5 taking place on Tuesday, May 9 (7:30 p.m. ET, TNT).
With his 47th career 30+ point Playoff game tonight, James Harden has passed Dirk Nowitzki for the 12th most such games in NBA history.

@@IndianaSmallmouthI mean there’s a reason for that, their game plan revolves around Embid, who works in the post, harden is at his best when the defenders don’t know if he’ll drive or shoot, and you can’t do that when you have the big guy down low feeding the post. This just proves harden isn’t Bipolar as he’s simply sacrificing his game to let embid play at his best. Harden could do this every night if that’s what they wanted but then we’d get people saying he’s boring to watch cause he dribbles 45 times a possession. Honestly him taking the passive approach has left him with more gas in the tank for these big games, gas that’s usually well gone and he would be running on fumes in Houston.

Gained alot of respect for harden. Took a pay cut, got in the best shape of his career since his prime rehabbing an injury, playing winning team first basketball and showing up bigtime in the playoffs to practically save the sixers season. He was committed on defense this game and the gesture he made after the game earned a lot of respect. What a class act!

What’s crazy about this, was that Harden led the entire league in assists this season. For the second time in his career. People think Harden’s only value is scoring, so when he doesn’t score a lot, they push blame on him. But they don’t realize his Playmaking and rebounding are big parts of his game, and a 35 y/o Harden shouldn’t be expected to be the 76ers top scorer in a playoff series.

Feast or famine. James really delivered tonight. As a Sixers fan, I don't need James from Game 1 and 4 every night. We just can't have Game 2 or 3 James. Bigtime win. They need to steal game 5 and win in 6. 7 games might be too big a mountain to climb. That said, the Sixers have been overcoming the odds all season. No offense to Embid, but if the Sixers wants to win Harden should be the 1st option on offense. If the defense collapses to Harden, more open looks for Embid and his teammates. On the other hand, Embid should dominate the paint and not settle for outside shots.
