@@something1600 draft horses have about 4.4 peak horsepower. Horsepower is an average over 24h including breaks, injuries and shoeing and so on. Underestimate to make the early engines look good, but it had a point, assuming no maintenance was needed in the lifetime of a horse.

It was made by a company that was forced to innovate around the Soviet union. They knew what they had to do to make a great vehicle. His crosly however was made by a man who knew and innovated refrigerators and freezers.

Independent it is, but not like regular conception. Tatra concept uses central tube, which has in it all differentials, shafts, diff locks, etc. Only two things are going out of the tube-halfaxles and input from gearbox. Halfaxles are pivoting on same point, but regular concept has suspension mounted on more places

@@tclcstudio4070Nah, that was heavy modified one-no three point hitches, ice intercooler, aero fenders, etc. For me is record holder Valtra T 234 which had only modified gearbox-longer ratios, of course. That Valtra reached 130 km/h.

The Velorex is from Czechoslovakia not Soviet union. And fun fact. It was able to use front gears as reverse, so its topspeed was same for reverse.

@@Papinak2 mmmm not really. While they look similar as alliances none of the eastern block nations could truly be said to be sovereign countries, it was closer to a us state in terms of independence. I don't care to get into an argument about it but it's worth knowing

JCB Fastrac have top speed of 50mph IIRC because I used to have that once (my dad own construction company back then). When I have an access to the Heavy Vehicles tour, I saw a Caterpillar that was used in Mr. Nice Guy (Jackie Chan movie) and asked to my dad if that was fast and he said that he can topped it at 31mph on flat tarmac which is really fast for 50 tons vehicle. I missed those memories when I was still small (9 years old back then) while having fun with those vehicles with my dad.

the velorex was not intenionally designed for disabled. it was meant to be a cheap car inspired by early morgans. it only became a vehicle for disabled due to car rationing. basically you got one if you only quailfied for a motorbike, but had a war related injury that meant you couldn't ride one. i actually own one, it's a nightmare to drive, one wheel will always find any groove in the road. it's like riding a boat in choppy waters, you always have to counter steer. great fun. it's for sale if anyone's interested

You should take a "green" trip on electric vehicles, but in a country where there are no electric stations. You can take generators with you and burn wood or diesel fuel to charge the batteries during the trip. 😁😁😁

(Talking about the JCB tractor) May: Power? Clarkson: Prrrrr... It is irrelevant, it's the weight, and it's not geared for acceleration. Yeah it's only got ~350 hp and literally has *FASTRAC* written on the bonnet

and a fendt cvt gearbox it's not geared to begin with there isn't even a clutch, the engine revs up and the gear ratio keeps increasing as the engine keeps up with torque.

this more unconventional variation of terribly slow 🚜 vehicles is surprisingly entertaining... can we race more of them? bike power was really neat to see kicking butt .. maybe with different gearing but then you'd need alot longer acceleration distance

for the final grand tour special, I think the trio should go on a long road trip in 3 hypercars. Hammond in the Pagani Utopia, May in the Bugatti Divo or Rimac nevera and Clarkson in the Gordon Murray T50.

Meaning Hammond will be getting an old American pick-up that has no creature comforts and a broken engine, May will get another antique with no power or will to live, and Clarkson will be getting the most inappropriate car, in the world, where the steering is busted.
