I love that James May, formerly captain slow and mister sensible is now the most engaged with so many in the younger RU-vid car community. When he roasts RU-vidrs' cars, you can tell he legitimately knows who each of them is and often has seen the car in question before the segment

James is right with his talk about reliability, Subaru's, BMW's, VW's and Ford's are generally bulletproof platforms in Europe. Don't know if it could be that we run them on higher quality fuel as 95 octane is generally the norm, as I've seen some people fill these cars up with 87 octane in the US.

Dont compare directly Europe octane with American octane. Europe measure their octane with RON method, meanwhile US & Canada measure their octane with AKI method. 87 Reguler in US roughly similar to RON 92 if it's still available in Europe. 89 US would be roughly similar to RON 95 in Europe.

@@bzilla-d4i no problem, idc really but that’s the cheapest lowest grade fuel with less than 10% ethanol there is E85 but it’s ethanol fuel. Usually at most pumps it’s 87, 89, 91or93

@ajidamarjati thanks for clarifying so it's pretty similar then, I'm from Italy, we have 95 Ron(Verde)/91 AKI as normal fuel, 98 Ron as Premium and Shell, Agip and Tamoil offer 100 Ron fuel as well, which is what i choose to fill up with.
