He left kickboxing in 2007. His last scheduled bout was supposed to be saki. 13 years later, his first fight with glory was that. He was meant to fight badr twice.. now he has that fight. Guy literally just picked up where he left off. Not many can say that. Say what you want about McSweeney, but the dude is a true fighter and one of the last kill or be killed left from that generation. He has the skills. Just a matter will they all get put to use.
Yeah watched him fight back in the day in Melbourne with Paul Slowinski and Azzar Askerov. That’s probably not how you spell there names but they are Old School Hard Men. 🇦🇺
McSweeny gonna win he still has somewhat fire and can take shots to head! If badr spam lowkicks all fight long he finished him. If McSweeny pressure him and go destroy body and hit head often in combinationd he wins

Is the "system" McSweeney is talking about that gave Overeem initially the win called anabolic steroids perhaps? We all know now that Overeem got caught and suspended and that the win on Badr turned into a no contest ;)
Poor Badr, guy never tests positive in his life and people try and cheat to beat him. USADA should give him a green jacket just for his integrity in the sport.

@@dzenoAnic it’s kickboxing. 50+ fights is normal in this sport lol. Yes, badr has more fights vs high level guys on a consistent basis. But James moved to mma right when he was making waves, but kickboxing was dying at that same time. He left with saki being his last scheduled kickboxing fight, and returned to kickboxing after a tune up fight and knocking out illunga. So picking up where he exactly left off is admirable. And I know the angle you’re trying to play. But you can easily find fights of mcsweeney that he did have, that aren’t documented
