Monk you are the perfect host and interviewer, creating safe place and allowing us to hear beautiful stories from this beautiful man. It is an art to shine the light on others while at the same time respectfully staying out of the way, in the background. An art of humility that you have mastered, sir.

Thanks BJ. It's not difficult to remain silent when you are listening to musicians who have so many stories and so much wisdom. Monk

A wonderful man of incredible talent, humanity, warmth, wit, and wisdom.I have heard several other interviews with Moody, and they are all gems.He often speaks of how much he learned from his years with Dizzy.I'm sure the feeling was mutual .

You know guys, Coltrane, Dizzy, Moody.. my gosh they all think the same way! They are extremely intelligent, practical, expansive , spiritual, universal... they see life as I try to see it.... I am amazed .. you know I think deep jazz players who have contributed to music have infinite perspective, they are very close to how I think God sees life -- full of love, integrity, truth. They are supermen. You can't have a romance with jazz and not be touched by spirituality. There is something to this jazz if you go deep enough in it. I think God lives there.

There is NO jazz education in the world that surpasses playing in Dizzy Gillespie band.

If another person would have gone on a rant about extre terrestrial Beings and 12 planets and sort, l would call them loopy, but Moody saying it sounds pretty dam reasonable! Awesome interview! I total admire his raw honesty.

No lying, I had to chuckle after Mr. Moody so casually brought back the topic of Nephalims and Annunakis towards the 51 minute mark. No disrespect: his talk on everything was very lucid (save the part where he forgot his point for a moment) and insightful. He was a very convicted person with morals. Enjoyable and informative interview as always Mr. Rowe.

Indeed. I'm sure I was thinking, "how do I respond to this aside about Nephalims?" I did love his stories.

TOUGHEST NYC jazz auditions ever held, had to be - those for Dizzy's band 1946.
