In my opinion James is one of the best live vocalists we've had in the UK for a very long time...If you get the chance to see him live then grab it, he is amazing

Never understood why he didn't reach superstardom - talent by the bucket load, very watchable and extremely attractive. Bad management or maybe just unlucky. Yet he definitely has something that makes me scared alright ... Love him.

he's one of the few artists that sounds just as great live as he does on a record. him, amy, duffy and adele have that soul that many just don't have. very distinct voices and pure talent.

Not oversung, not overplayed, just pure soul. PERFECTION.

I saw you first about 15 years ago, supporting Corrine Bailey Rae. She found you busking in Leeds. And you blew the place apart. I went to every small gig you did after that. And you never disappointed. Outstanding voice and just so amazingly talented. I still go back to you on RU-vid. I love songs that take you to times in your life that were so important. And you feature in my kids lives. They’re now 26, 22 and 20 and they talk about having your CD on and writing the words down 😭❤️ God bless you xx
