Very nice interview and wonderful playing. As the world continues to open I’ll put this festival and bassist on my radar. I’m a bassist from Atlanta in the states.
James is definitely one of my favorite Bach players, among the very very best, but I haven’t heard him play much else! I think different bassists can do very different things, depending on their strengths and interests. Mikyung Sung is likely to play different repertory from Szymon Marciniak who will play different repertory from James Oesi, etc.
