James Proves His Point 

That was a brilliant story. I love how it takes place after 'Dirty Objects'. I felt sorry for James during the episode. He didn't deserve to be teased at by Gordon and Henry. But I liked how James proved himself in the end by pulling the trucks. It was nice to see the Old Coaches again. Well done to WhitehouseFilms for his splendid narration 👏👏👏.

This is an aftermath of a typical James story. Nice continuity with Season 1 by the way.

Alright, I just love how it takes place after 'Fire and Smoke' and then before 'Off the Rails / Gordon Takes a Dip'! Cool!

Splendid; I had a feeling James had something to learn after crashing into those tar wagons. Fancy it was set during "Off the Rails", even with similar dialogue between James and the driver about the special train being trucks; I do love James having a chuckle back at Gordon refusing to pull it and falling into the ditch! 😄

Definitely takes place within Off the Rails/Gordon Takes a Dip. I knew it the moment the special was mentioned. Truth be told, I had a story of my own written that was nearly similar, but with Percy shunting the special and helping Edward take it up Gordon's Hill, only to get stuck, and after James finishes taking Edward's passenger train, the inspector asks him to bank Edward and Percy up the hill, and after they make their last delivery, Sir Topham Hatt rewards Percy with a new coat of paint and James with the right to pull the express the next day, before giving James one more job for the day: Pulling Gordon out of the ditch. I had hoped to submit my story to you (somehow), but it appears Chris beat me to the punch. Oh, well. I can always ask NWR1991 (not that my story will be any better than Chris', anyway). But I do have another self-written story. One that takes place after Thomas and Gordon, within The Sad Story of Henry.

This is a really cool story. Kinda wish I thought of it myself. But for my rendition that I wrote down in my notes, I had Dirty Objects take place in between the Flying Kipper and Whistles and Sneezes. James gets sent to be cleaned as Henry returns from Crewe and comes back after Gordon’s jammed whistle incident just in time to tease him alongside Henry. Also, Henry also gets to take the express as Gordon is forced to take the unhurt trucks of James’s goods train.

Edward's expression at James taking a stand... I mean, after such a crash, it's understandable. Least he wasn't going on strike like last time. "Sulky service", indeed. Better sulky than bumpy. And bootlaces. 😜 I should've known the special we've heard about was the one from "Gordon Takes a Dip". And know we know what made James grin so much while pulling Gordon out of the ditch. 😆 Just where does that Inspector keep coming from?

This thing between Edward and James is often glosed over I’d say the HIT era really paired them together a lot which was very unique for the series cause when James and Edward are parked together Edward comes out on top he still does but as it progressed James says less about Edward then before

Ha ha, well well well, that’s a very interesting story, Gordon was supposed to take the special train but ran into a ditch and James was to take it but was afraid of trucks and went on Edward’s branch line until he learned about Gordon, that makes sense

One little problem - If Edward had to take the special because James wouldn't and Gordon was in the ditch, then how did James, who was in the shed, not see Gordon in the ditch with his tender fouling the turntable?
