I was playing an a acoustic gig at the Castle tavern 15years ago and at the end of the night this chick claiming to be James Reynes' sister was there pissed as fuck causing dramas with her boofhead boyfriend saying " Do you know who I am?" and Im like "you look like James Reyne but even uglier", and she actually was James Reynes sister!! Piss funny
This year I’m going to see him and the concert is James Reyne 'Crawl File' plays the hits of Australian Crawl Pointless not acknowledging that if it wasn’t for Aussie Crawl he wouldn’t be where he was if not for them. Don’t get me wrong he certainly came into the spotlight more with his solo albums. I think personally As a solo performer, his songwriting was so much better. Well, considering where Jimmy Barnes came from which is basically where I came from you would certainly call him upper class! Don’t get me wrong I think he’s a great, he’s a great singer. He still sounds amazing and I’m looking forward to seeing him again. I’ve seen him many times solo and with Aussie Crawl 💙🙏🏻
So why does he hate talking about his Aussie Crawl days? Yeah he's moved on but they existed. Trying to pretend they didn't sux. The lp's and CD's are out there. (tapes wore out).
He may have come from a wealthy family, but i think they are taking a jab at the super-rich, the type that don't need to work and socialites etc. His parents worked.

Jamie Overend he is from the upper middle class. Private school boy, his mum was principal of a girls’ private school and his Dad was aide-de-camp to the Victorian Governor. He’s being disingenuous to say he doesn’t know where the rich kid tag came from.
Sacking Bill McDonough was one thing but not inviting him to the ARIA Hall of Fame Award, let alone a mention to Bill and Guy was disgraceful. Great frontman but a lowlife in so many ways
