I've listened to the commentary for this episode, James said he didn't expect this actress to give such a huge reaction and it took him off guard. He said he was really impressed that she truly brought her all for this role!

@@laurene.8233 yeah!!! It's on the DVD sets! I'm assuming they did it for all pf the seasons, but I only own seasons 1-4 on DVD. But they did it for all of those seasons, and the people featured on the commentary are almost always Dulé, James, and Steve Franks, but of course they have the rest of the cast on there as well, in sort of a rotation!

Literally a top 3 moment of the show for me! I always thought that was a perfect display of the relationship that Shawn and Juliet have. She's the more serious one, but his goofiness and charm make her smile.

Guys, this isn't blooper, it's an actual scene. So you're right, it's barely breaking character, which is why it isn't a blooper, but you can tell he's starting to smile and has to hold in his laughter. I think it's hilarious 😂

Thanks for pointing this out. I noticed it before while watching the episode, but I was thinking of it as Shawn's reaction. Now that I'm looking at it as James's reaction it makes more sense.

I thought I was the only one who caught this! 😂😂😭. This is my favorite episode and apparently when I point out to people, they didn’t see it the first time 😂😂
