I love his voice... he could sit there for seven hours reading from users manuals of kitchen appliances, vacuum cleaners, electric toothbrushes, lawnmowers, and VCRs from back in the '80s... and I would listen to all of it...
I scanned Audible and everything when I started to watch the Blacklist and was really sad there are no audiobooks he read. He would be soooo good (I hung on his words when he read "Pippi Longstockings" to Agnes in Blacklist).

Syntaxus Dogmata couldn't agree more. His voice in the Avengers was genius. Blacklist and the legal comedy with Captain Kirk was hilarious. Raymond Reddington is one of my favorite characters of all time.
I do remember reading about the casting of 'To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar' and the casting director said that James Spader had read for Patrick Swayze's role and auditioned in drag, she said James was "absolutely beautiful".
I've been binging Blacklist like mad. Before that I only ever saw him in Stargate (1994), where he played a completely different character. He must be the most interesting actor I've ever seen. His personality is like properly aged wine, love it!
If you want to see him in a different role, find Secretary or The Secretary with Maggie Guyllen...have no idea how to spell or even say her name (sister of the guy in the gay cowboys movie...sorry). Anyway, it's kinky...took nerve to take that role.

Spader is such a natural story-teller, his cadence and tone are impeccable. Really does show you how well he plays the part of Reddington. Megan Boone's appearance at the end is also great.
James Spader is a tresure indeed! I remember the first time I saw him so young in a very good movie witch was called " Sex, Lies and Videotape". Was a very original movie for that time. It was in the nineties. Someone remember about it ?!
I Love Craig for bringing Stargate up. I didn't expect anyone to mention it seeing as it came out over ten years before Craig even started doing this show. Shame Spader didn't seem keen on talking about it.
Spader is his own enigma..great personality to watch..Boston Legal, and even his early days with the "Brat Pack"..It seems as if they rehearsed all this..they bounce off each other perfectly..seems CF is the straight man, and JS cleans up..pretty novel to watch.

Now, some of the upper institutions, are getting from correct grammar and I believe, spelling, due I'm thinking to radical influences in education...i.e.more into social stuff than math, science, and language.
I don't usually care too much for Craig Ferguson interviews, but these with James Spader are great. He really knows when to let Spader keep talking and when to get in a quip or direct the interview. Some the more recent interviews with Fallon and Colbert are awkward in a bad way. Both, but Fallon especially, try to control the conversation and seem to feel they need to have a 50/50 back and forth. Maybe it's the time constraints, but get Spader going on one topic and you're set.
