I'm atheist. This message is very very important, because while I may not believe, I believe in those teachings of respect, love, and tolerance, for those who are willing to give it in return. I'm very excited to see what he can do for Texas, because it's getting scary here, looking at the future.

Jesus is quoted in the Bible many times and his words were never hateful (except for the fig tree he cursed and killed lol). Jesus said (John 15:18), "If the world hates you, know that they hated me before they hated you." You can't have hate in your heart and be a Christian.

While I personally don’t support, or follow, any type of religion I do respect people’s right and freedom to believe in whatever they want to believe. If any religion is to be followed, THIS is the true way of doing so; with love, acceptance and respect for everyone.
Apparently I missed the class in Sunday School and in Church when we learned how Jesus taught us to hate. How Jesus taught us to hate LGBTQ, other religions, sinners (like tax collectors, Samaritans, prostitutes). They are not supposed to be where we are, nor are we supposed to be where they are. I don't know how I missed that, but Jesus please believe me, I will try to catch up.
Yes God is love, but he is also just! The issues you espouse will never be accepted in His kingdom. You claim to be a Christian yet your politics seems to be more important than winning souls to Christ. Question? If & when you stand before God, what will you tell him why you should come into His Kingdom? Because you loved everyone? I was a state senator? I spoke well among my colleagues? I don't want to take anyone's freedoms away, that is what I fought for when I served in the Army. That's the whole point I'm making. We don't get to cherry pick and think we are superior to others just because we believe in God.
Never thought there would be a real Christian that would stand up to these people using Christ as a weapon to gain power. I would've thought he would be banished from Christianity by all the other "true" Christians.
