16 years old and a college freshman, sitting in the student union, I was suddenly mezmerized when this song came over the loudspeakers. As I sat there listening, I thought "This boy will go far!' And he did. Thank you so much, James, for adding such richness to the rest of my life!
James Taylor is such a Master at his craft, doesn't need a fancy high tech stage show. Give this man a stool and an acoustic guitar and prepare to be amazed at his musical talent.
Not taking anything away from JT, but it helps when you have a kickass backing band and such an awesome venue to play in. Not sure if that’s a cabin or what but it looks nice and cozy.
"Another Day" from "Hourglass" saved my life, after losing my girl and her kids I was contemplating suicide, then I found "Another Day", took me 6 months to learn on guitar but James and his sweet message saved me! Thank You Mr. Taylor!
I can't believe this video only has 69K views. Something is wrong with this world. For the ones that read this, well done, you've found a great piece of music history. I salute you!
James Taylor is the king of songwriting--his soul is graceful and gentle and his integrity is eternally present--we love him for all eternity and beyond, in all past lives, in all future lives, in every dimension and every realm. To hear the rhythm and tone and lingo that exudes from his voice puts my being in all forms at peace and provides me clarity. We love you
He was incredibly young when he wrote this bittersweet haunting and beautiful melody. Never get tired of hearing this song and what a great version. Thanks James!
I know nothing about this series of recordings. They are totally brilliant though! I was lucky enough to see JT in concert once, a few years ago. He was brilliant in Birmingham UK. I've been a fan since about 1972....when I was 13. His songs have reflected pivotal times of my life! X
Fan For Very Long Time ~Love James Taylor Music " Song " Fire & Rain " Very Special To Me ~Lyrics Still Bring Tears To My Eyes ! Brings Back The Day I Found Out My Dad Was Killed ! 15 yrs old
Since I was a young guy growing up in So-Cal his music has indeed been a great part of my life,s soundtrack. Having not had an opportunity to see him " live " and reaching 60 I had given up on that privilege ..... until he booked a session at our local small civic center.... walking distance from the house . Like me... time had aged him... but not his presence , his quality or his music. A memory never to forget for me... a ( poor ) guitar player.
He's the reason I wanted to play the guitar. Many years later, after the fires came and burned down Santa Rosa, CA ( and my home), his peeps let us see his show in Sacramento in June 2018. During the intermission...he sat at the corner of the stage and his adoring fans took turns saying hi, taking selfies, and sharing moments with the man. When I saw him, he signed the first album he made, and I let him know I was thankful to see him...it meant a lot for his people to get us into the show. He was kind, took my hand, looked me in the eyes and gave me words of healing. I'm thankful he stuck around with us...he could have left us long ago..Peace to you, James, and thank you sister for making the moment possible.
Where is the second thumbs up ... I grew up on JT (spent a lot of time in car during childhood-and father played it on guitar at times). There is one thing I can say about my father ... he had good taste in music.
Just yesterday morning they let me know you were gone Susanne the plans they made put an end to you I walked out this morning and I wrote down this song I just can't remember who to send it to I've seen fire and I've seen rain I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend But I always thought that I'd see you again Won't you look down upon me, jesus You've got to help me make a stand You've just got to see me through another day My body's aching and my time is at hand And I won't make it any other way Oh, I've seen fire and I've seen rain I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend But I always thought that I'd see you again Been walking my mind to an easy time my back turned towards the sun Lord knows when the cold wind blows it'll turn your head around Well, there's hours of time on the telephone line to talk about things To come Sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground Oh, I've seen fire and I've seen rain I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend But I always thought that I'd see you, baby, one more time again, now Thought I'd see you one more time again There's just a few things coming my way this time around, now Thought I'd see you, thought I'd see you fire and rain, now
This song is a fantastic piece of work . With the way the world the way it is in this pandemic time at the moment means a lot and is powerful . love this so a lot .
