I lived in Greenfield as a child and was tasked with learning and reciting Riley poems in elementary school. I still remember the words to little orphant Annie and When the frost is on the pumpkin even though it's been over 40 years since I learned them. I remember field trips to his home in Greenfield as well as attending Riley days. I even spent time in Riley hospital. So even though I haven't lived in Indiana for many many years his poetry still takes me back to my childhood there. Thank you for the documentary
Thank you so much for this documentary ❤️. I am a distant descendant of James Whitcomb Riley and I just learned so much from this beautiful and informative tribute. 💗❤️
Great video. Great perspective on JWR and the context of his poetry. Plus, my fondest memory of my childhood is of my mother, reading "The Raggedy man" to me and my 2 siblings. We begged her to read it countless times, and she obliged.
