This reminds me of my grandpa and I. He was a medic in WWII. I'd go over to his house every Wednesday and mow his lawn in the summer. He always gave me $20. I told him I didn't want his money and he told me if I didn't take it I couldn't mow his lawn. After I got done we'd sit around and talk and play cards. He told me all kinds of stories about Grandma and him, about the war, and everything else. Other times we went fishing together. Best times of my life.
Like when I would help my father measure and split firewood for his customers. He would want to pay me at the end of the day and I would refuse. I was enjoying the quality time we spent together. That's all I wanted
So glad to see he has recovered from his fall and head injury. Who cares about hits when you can sing like this. The establishment didn't like Waylon neither. Stand tall and keep on singing and writing the music my generation loves.
@@JamesSwanson-l9r I'm really glad to hear he can still write music because I'm a HUGE JJ fan. His voice and his style is unmistakable and truly unique.
A true man who sticks to his beliefs and works his ass off. Seen him live many times and hope to many more. Keep being real and never be a sheep to anyone
I'm an old dog and have listened to all the country greats for a lifetime.. this particular song here is one of my favorites. Listen to the original studio version often.
A good sng pulls you in with a good melody and a catchy hook. A great song inspires you and maybe makes you cry a little as it hits you in your soul. Jamey wrote a great song here and this stripped down performance makes it just a little bit better!
As someone who loves music ALOT you ever heard someone cry out in church cause thats what its like. You cant help it. Its something else moving thru you.
Can't say I didn't tear up when he started singing, because I damn sure did.. And every time I've heard this song I do.. Hell, I was driving one day and had to pull over to cry or risk wrecking my car.. This song hits the feels alright.. Thank you Jamey Johnson..🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
I love this song more every time I hear it. Makes me think of my dad. I don't think I can love Jamey Johnson any more than I do now. One of my favorites! Thank you!!!
Was just about to comment this , my god. You think he wants to hear them scream? People think it’s about themselves too much especially at these shows with an intimate setting.
Screw the tabloids, we fan's know better. Keep on doing what you do, Don't think for a minute but you will always have several fan's of support.thank you for the music.
One of my Favorites - play it almost every day! Also bought the CD for this song but found that I love the entire CD … Great Music, Lyrics and Voice !!
I use to play this one for my grandmother I got married June 4th it was extremely hot on me and my wife's wedding day.my grandmother and all of our eyes are blue this song hits home.
..Love is the message, a love few can find today...this fine man is a messenger of that Love..Praise you Jesus for your love, bless those who hear n DO your Love..😊
My understanding and experience with listening rooms is that once the artist starts a song there is to be no sounds from the audience. This is definitely not a listening room.
There is only one Double J! There is no artist that I listen to more. It ain't his songs, it is his Spirit that I love and can feel in each song. God Bless You Jamey!
We love this song ,in fact we're going to play it when we renew our vows on the beach this summer for our 20th Anniversary the part that really hits home is my wife is called Memaw her spelling not mine i leave the W off and take a shot in the ribs every time haha our Anniversary is actually Feb. 2nd and we got married by a JP ,So we wanted to have our friends down at the shore attend . We're permanent campers there since my Dad started camping there 37 years ago and in June we're going to actually have our first wedding service with friends 2nd time around for both Jamey Johnson we loved all your song that you wrote since day 1 short hair and all :) . We seen you at Penns peak in Pennsylvania ,we're Appellations' ,Blue Mountains Pa..
This song hits home for me, my dad's dad died in 35, my mom's mom died in 35, although they didn't know each other then. Later on, both my dad and my uncle Bob were both in WWII, and after the war they both came home and got married, all of the pic's from those days are black and white.... and he's right, I wish I could have seen it in color....
