Jamie was obsessed with Prince. He always played Prince in any skit on in living color and mentioned him all the time on his show and in public appearances. Too bad Jamie won an Oscar and got all cocky
That little man was sent to us to give us great music and we all looked at him in awe.. That little body, those big brown eyes, the charisma, talent.... And he was such a philanthropist. How can you not have respect for a man that, not only fulfilled his destiny but helped people, along the way?
Those eyes were green (according to Mayte's book). Re-watch the Lake Minnetonka scene from Purple Rain, definitely green or green-hazel. The guy was truly enlightened and blessed us all. A beautiful summary.
His Prince voice is spot on. Foxx is such a talented guy. He's working hard in this bit, but making it seem natural. Another funny example of this routine was when Pearl Jam was on SNL in the 90s, and Adam Sandler as Opera Man sings about how Eddie Vedder made him question his own sexuality.
Prince oozed sex appeal, and so many macho idiots don't get what women saw in him. It's because Prince had the confidence to be himself, whereas the guys who don't understand have to posture and pretend to be hard as they think that is what women want. It's not.

I remember when he did this for the first time years ago-I couldn't stop crying from laughing so hard. Jamie's telling the truth-Prince had special powers-Lol. Not many entertainers have the trifecta, but Jamie does. He's a funny comedian, he can act and he can sing. Some can do 1, some 2, but very rarely do you see an entertainer that can do all 3.

This is not the first time I hear Jame Foxx speak about Prince. Every single time he start to speak about P, he got so excited in his voice, in his gestures, in his look, movements, etc.. He just cannot hide tremendous respect, admiration and love for him. There is one great video on yt, where Prince is handling Foxx award for portraying Ray Charles and the way P gives him compliments, praising his performance in very honest way, and Jamie is just melting there, left speechless but at the same time it looks like he's gonna cry or jump out of chair how much those words actually mean to him coming from his Idol. It's really touching and beautiful. Prince was The God of Music, he was so surreal, so influential and so iconic on so many levels that it's no surprise that the most talented people in Hollywood are like little children and fans feeling about Prince.

Jimmy Fallon did a similar sketch of him playing pingpong with Prince and captured his "Bambi" eyes imitation with perfection. I was watching Prince's CNN interview with Larry King and his eyes had me mesmerized. I also loved Jaime's imitation of Prince's voice. His voice was extremely sexy yet very calming. Which is why some of my favorite songs my him are Breakfast can wait and get off coz you can kind of hear him in his natural tone talking dirty to you haha. Damn.

Prince was funny as heck too. He had Massive sense of humor. Easy to make him laugh. So easy. And he himself was a riot! He was hysterical! Had to be quick .. he was quick but funny as heck. I miss the laughter. I need to find a way to find my smile again.
I remember I found a pretty picture of Prince online and looked into its eyes, Don't do it, you'll go into a trance, and yes Jamie, I did feel some kinda shit, I felt like I was slowly going into a little spell the longer I looked into them! 😂

Pretty funny, but Prince was 100% heter...without being homophobic. Very aware. Very witty. Very quick at picking up someone's intentions...especially interviewers :-) For as publicly reclusive as he was, he always seemed to reach out to the exceptions among the "new talent" (i.e. Robert Glasper, Esperanza Spalding, Lianne La Havas, etc.).
