@@BowForGloryshow me an American movie Christoph Waltz was in before Inglourious Basterds. Tarantino found him and presented him to the world, he'd have stayed an unknown European actor otherwise.
@@TheNimdude if you actually wanna hear what I have to say about that I'll explain how it is. That's the biggest problem with weed and more people should be calling it out.
100% Jamie Fox was one of the most talented, charismatic people in this generation. But he was always humble and respected and learned from other craftsmen doing their work
At the time Leo had no Academy Award. Waltz had one and was earning his second. Everyone knew Waltz was a great actor. TBF we knew that about Leo, just that it never seemed to be his turn.
@@BB-mt5noYou do understand Leonardo DiCaprio has been one of the best actors in Hollywood, for decades? Cause an award means nothing in the face of that kinda experience.
@@jibberjabberrto me he was the single reason Star Wars was at least a bit interesting. He made some really good small budget movies. He definitely has acting range, just had some bad scripts
@@malintended I mean he was like, "Christopher just started *says random line from movie* and then he looks down *says it again then makes Leo dicaprio face*, and then he's goes to I'd like to thank the academy." Like what? What the hell were you trying to say about his method
There are so many subtle nuances and micro brush strokes to the scenes Waltz paints. The pacing of his dialogue never feels like he is reading a line because he makes you forget you are part of an audience.
And that’s precisely what makes him masterful. I never really appreciated him when he starred in tarentino’s movies. In fact, I watch inglorious basterds years after Django premiered-My “aha” moment was Waltz’s intro in that film. That was my “oh $ht” moment, and realized he was just that damn good LOL.
Christoph Waltz is a one and a generational talent. He doesn’t get a lot of big roles but when he is ON there is no one who can steal the scene from Waltz. He is a straight up killer on camera.
@@gh0unI mean... there are several. Denzel, Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, Meryl Streep, Joaquin Phoenix, Anthony Hopkins, Daniel Day Lewis, Robert Downey Jr, Johnny Depp, Robert Pattinson and many more. Christoph is an amazing actor and worthy of all praise, but he's not standing alone on the mountain top. You can go back further into the 90s 80s 70s 60s 50s and find his equal many times over. He is special but he's not the only one.
Jamie Foxx is an amazing storyteller - there are Oscar winners and some of the best actors sitting around the table, and no one interrupts him, no one talks over him, he's just captivating.
Christoph Waltz is one who values the finer details of things. You can see it in both Django and Inglorious Basterds. It’s the German desire for attention to detail in him
@@Internut1985I have no dog in the game but that's the worse thing you can say to an Austrian person. They have a real chip on their shoulder about being Germany's little cousin.
@@fil4648 No. Austrians are not German in any way. Austrians are on a whole different level and quite different. They don't even speak the same language. I'm from the USA. I've lived in both of those countries at different times. Work ethic is different, everything is different.
The very first movie I saw Waltz in was Inglorious Bastards. I couldn't stop watching that movie. When I saw him in Django unchained, it was even better. He plays characters as if he's a fox.
Waltz is probably my favorite actor of all time, he's one of the greatest actors ever and deserves every bit of credit he's ever gotten. Never have I been so convinced of a character as the ones he plays
Once in a generation talent and circumstances. He was a theater actor his whole life up until Quentin went to see a play Christof was the lead role in. Tarantino was so mesmerized by Waltz's acting that he went over to him after the play and after a short chat asked him if he ever considered trying out the moving pictures. Needless to say, after that encounter, we got the best gift any film lover could ask for. I believe Christofs theater experience and lack of movie experience is actually what makes him such a gem and a unique entity on the big screen. It's the lack of camera in his work that makes him so magnetizing to watch.
@@BatkoBrat sounds similar to how Alan Rickman got his start. He did all theater until Die Hard. Die Hard was his first big screen movie. And he too was absolutely fantastic.
Right, for Ray Charles movie. Still pissed that Joaquin didn't win it the year prior for Walk The Line though... he should have 2 now, after the other from Joker.
Jamie Fox has got to be the subject of so much envy in Hollywood. How many people are trying to be an actor. He has an Oscar. How many people are trying to make it in music, think of how many hits Jamie Fox has. How many people are trying to make it in comedy, he’s a world class comedian. Damn man, save some talent for the rest of us.
Jamie has managed to find a fine balance in the industry I still watch his comedy shows on T.V and seeing him in movies again where he manages to kill it
@@bigmike2464 the funny thing is in his crazy mind he probably thinks he is equal to the others around him. The guy has to be best friends with whoever ran the whole thing otherwise I don’t know how the actual fuck he got in.
Waltz' acting quality was honed on Austrian/ German theater stages, very disciplined actor. We have a lot of great stage actors over here but 99.9 % of them never make the transition to Hollywood
We all love Jamie everywhere music, movies, comedy, and podcast he’s a true and honest person everyone loves and inspires to be anything like. The best of all worlds.
If you search for all his names together in YT you'll probably find it. It's from an Actors Roundtable that they often do in awards season but I don't know which year. My guess is 2019, 2020 because of Adam Driver (Marriage Story probably).
He’s amazing! Just finished watching his acceptance speech for his Oscar win for ‘Ray’. Extremely well spoken, one of the greatest story tellers and comedic as well. Just overall insanely talented
Django will become one of the greatest classics of all time. Each actor is fortunate to have a role, but each one was extremely talented, too. One of the greatest movies of all time!
For anyone who did film study, know exactly what Foxx was talking about. Waltz's mannerism in his craft is what sets him in a class well above the majority of Hollywood. He's a genius
As a native german i have to say that Christoph has such an unbelievable mesmerizing and unique original voice...even in english..i love to just listen to him. It´s calming af!
