Jamie Foy's SECRET Bushing Hack!

Jamie Foy's Secret Bushing hack is to only skate clear bushings. Jamie Foy skates thunder raw trucks with just stock bushings but on the nine club he told chris roberts he'll only skate the clear bushings and that the blue clear bushing from thunder are his favorite. Jamie Foy says that solid color bushing get too hard because of the chemicals in the dye. I copied Jamie Foy's board setup down to his clear blue bushings so in this video I talk about skating on Jamie Foy's Clear blue thunder bushings and compare jamie foy's bushings to bones mediums bushings that I used to ride.

Clear green Venture bushings from the 90s were one of the reasons I skated Venture Featherlite trucks. I just got the Thunder clear blue 94 da and put them on my indy titaniums and wha-la. I tried 5 sets of bushings. I love the ride. I had to use 2 indy top washers per truck, since Thunder bushings slim down at the bottom of the bottom bushing.

The one thing that sucks about thunder/ventures stock bushings is if you live in a really cold environment like Canada they will tighten up and blow out on you within 1 session last year I went through 4 sets of the translucent bushings in a week so just switched to ace trucks and they haven’t failed me!
@PinkFZeppelin
@PinkFZeppelin 2 года назад
Lubing them would probably help. Biggest thing though is just ride em gently for a bit when it's that cold out. You flexing them will heat them up quickly. Just like how a rubber band gets hot when you stretch and compress it.

I never tested the indy white but it was nice hearing your impressions and I suppose they are worth a try.

Thunder 147 titanium lights with white thunder bushings in front and a harder black bushings in the rear. This allows a tighter rear truck but the same ride height. The hard bushings dont blow out or deform. Hard in the rear took some geting used to but once i did i love it. Very reliable, no adjusting truck tighteness constantly.

Good skating and good vid about bushings. I'm around 200lbs and i had to swap the bottom bushings on my Indy's cuz they were like you describe with the "falling off" effect. I replaced them with Venom 90a red barrel bushings and it is such an improvement.
@RobyMontes22
@RobyMontes22 2 года назад
Good choice with venom. Wine red venoms should be a good duro for a technical setup. I messed up my ankle months ago and haven't been able to do tech so I got into looser cruising/surf skating. I run venom SHR seafoam barrels and red cones on most of my decks. I'm about to buy Riptide bushings. They have a "Krank" formula which should be similar to venoms SHR formula. Riptide sells you bushings to spec depending on your truck, and they also sell high quality hand poured pivot cups which I'll be trying out.
@Gold__Dime
@Gold__Dime Год назад
neat tip! This is also very true with downhill skateboard products... Wheels with the same urethane formula but with different color dyes, slide differently, grip differently, break out and hook up differently. So, same same with bushings

Do you feel that learning so many different pros techniques or tips on tricks will affect your 'style' development, i.e. do you think it would lead to fake Steaze or just looking kind of robotic? Awesome video, its funny because i have this random thunder setup with those bushings and a pair of silvers with very similar ones- and as much as i wanna say i love indys and other setups, which are fine, i skate my best and most comfortable on ones with the translucent bushings lol

Idk why everyone likes those bones bushings. I bought them twice and both times that yellow washer part blew out and sunk into the bushing within about 2-3 weeks of skating. If they're free it's one thing but paying $10 for bushings that may or may not fall apart in a few weeks is a waste especially when the Indy bushings are good to go. Just my opinion though haha maybe y'all have had better luck with the bones bushings.

thunder has good bushings, I skated the clear orange ones in the 148s was not disappointed

Thats interesting that the dye changes the urethane - no wonder I can’t skate Indy bushings anymore
