Stopped watching the Oscars years ago, but this year's Oscars is just amazing. Lots of heartwarming, inspiring stories from the winners. Amazing movies. Amazing speeches. No political agenda, no silly issues. I have never been happier to see celebrities winning an award. I guess that's because their stories are relatable to many of us so it seems like it's really personal. So congrats to Jamie Lee Curtis, Ke Huy Quan, Michelle Yeoh, and Brendan Fraser. Truly worthy winners.
She's been my favorite actress since the 1980s! So glad she won, and during her acceptance speech when she mentioned her parents, I cried when she did. She's the daughter of legendary icons in Hollywood, now she's legend herself! Congratulations Jamie Lee Curtis!!
This is the first time in the last 10 years or so, that I’m truly excited watching the Oscar ceremony, because all winners, especially the four actors, were actually celebrating cinema. It felt honest, from Brendan, Michelle, Ke and Jamie Lee. There was an honest atmosphere of joy for cinema, as an art form.
i agree as well..also i wont be surprised if viewers rating this year is much higher thanks partly to the cult like fan base of EEAAO! In my Mexican pueblo alone (an expats enclave) I've noticed the resurgence of Oscar Parties this year !
In the jaded world that we currently live in, it is such a breath of FRESH AIR to see an actor who is so GENUINELY touched and GRATEFUL to be recognized I applaud you Jamie !!
I am ELATED that she won....a total class act....LOVED her acceptance speech. She always came across as a really funny, down-to-earth person. She totally deserves Oscar.
@@birdsfan57 she instagrammed a pic of here table and chairs given to her in her home. In the background of that picture was a framed photo of a naked child stuffed into a container. Look up Jamie Lee Curtis child in a box. I’d post the link here but it keeps getting removed. Wonder why. Would you have a picture like that hanging on your wall?! I hope not. I also would hope that a person like that would not be able to adopt children. What gets you awards and recognition in Hollywood right now? Having a trans child would probably be on the top of the list…..I fear for what her adopted son has gone through.
Just when you think you couldn’t love Jamie Lee Curtis anymore. I’ve watched her in movies my whole life, I’m 45 now and to see her finally get the accolade she deserves is tremendous. So so happy for her.
When I am dead" by Steve Gooden When I am dead...remember me for the good I did, the songs I sang the kind words I spoke. When I am dead think of me for the moments we shared the games we played and the tears we shed. When I am dead honor me for the poor I helped, the homeless I housed, the lost I helped find their way, for the children I mentored, the family and the friends I loved and cherished and the country I served. When I am dead forgive me, for the cross words I had, the people I offended, the lies I told and the things I stole. Forgive me for the hearts I broke, the ones I used and the few I mis-used. Forgive me for the goals I failed to reach, the dreams I never realized and the burden I might have been at times. When I am dead Do better for your sakes, learn the lessons I did not, don't make my mistakes yours, and if possible stand on the shoulders of my legacy and build a better one. When I am dead, move on! Remember me yes, but move on. Live in no regrets for having met me, hold no grudge against me and share with others the best I had to offer. Don't make me larger than life, but don't make me irrelevant. Remember me, but live your life so when you are dead, they will say better things of you and we move each generation closer to that ultimate likeness of God in righteous reflection of that which is best about us and reflective of the Divine. Above all when I am dead remember the GOD I lived to serve, no matter how flawed my attempt to be like HIM. Remember that He died for us and asked us to remember HIM, and who best for us to remember, than He who gave his life for us that we might remember HIM. While we live and there is breath in our bodies, remember this. If we do this, when we are dead HE who is perfect will remember us!
She’s genuinely a lovely person! My Sister was an extra in a movie with Jamie back in 97 and while waiting around on set, Jamie came over and took a photo of her in costume and gifted it to my Sister. She didn’t need to, but did so out of kindness and connection. So happy she won!
Jamie Lee Curtis is that crazy aunt that you always want to visit because she brings so much joy to your life. A well respected actress and all around good person. Happy for her!
@YellowMeadow Spirituelle erm, no. Folks need to stop allowing “current hollyweird” to dictate their idea of beauty. I grew up in the 1970-80’s. The “celebrities” of that time are now in their 70’s, 80’s, 90’s or have died, after having careers that spanned the decades before i was born. Most of them allowed or have allowed themselves to age naturally.
I just have one word to say…. “Respect” I have no idea who are and what you look like… in 2023. Where looks and a whole of $ can get you took a certain way, regardless if’s fake eyelashes, etc..etc..etc.. She is and always will be the most beautiful woman in the world and forever is the most caring and loving and compassionate and the coolest person in the room or the world. Huge fan and I have watched her grow and grow and be loved by her family and her fans all over the world. I cried in my kitchen the next day because she had touched me emotionally and love in my heart. Have a great day and remember “looks can be fixes, but forever bad a** is forever. Thank Jamie Lee Curtis for your help and for your time for your fans.
She had work done when she was younger, she's been open about that but after trying Botox in the early 2000s and having a terrible reaction to it, she stopped doing anything and allowed herself to age naturally
I'm truly elated for Jamie Lee. After 45 years of acting, she finally has recognition from the industry. Did the other nominees deserve an Academy Award? Absolutely. Unfortunately there's only one Oscar for each category, and some are always going to leave the event empty-handed. It's a shame that some folks online feel so dejected that their fav nominees didn't win that they want to childishly dump on everyone else's shining moment.
She deserves it. Congratulations Jamie! Love her speech especially the last part where she gave tribute to her parents who were Oscar nominees, she took home the bacon after 62 years of wait
Her father Tony Curtis received his nomination in 1959 for his lead role in _The Defiant Ones_ and her mother Janet Leigh received her nomination in 1960 for her supporting role in _Psycho_ .
Just adore her! Met her many years ago, when she was filming Trading Places in Philadelphia, and she hasn't changed a bit. Still a gracious, wonderful, warm, down to earth human. She so deserves this long-awaited recognition!
Jamie lee Curtis is such a sweet human being. I saw on a backstage interview with her and ke, ke showed this gold ball that she gave everyone before the ceremony because she didn’t want anyone to go home empty handed just in case. It shows her true character and nature. So happy to see her win (sorry Angela)
So proud of Jamie Lee. Her parents are smiling down at her and are so very proud of their daughter. Congratulations on your Oscar win,we'll deserved and long overdue. Love and Prayers from Canada 🇨🇦❤️🙏🕊🌹CHEERS 🥂
Very moving. It must mean a great deal to her that both her parents, although nominated, never won so for her, this Oscar is, especially, I would think - for the three of them. Jamie Lee is the full package - great actress, long Hollywood history - and a solid and honourable person, generous with her acknowledgements to those who responded to her talent, allowing her to be so successful. Congratulations to her - she deserves every moment of applause; every clap, every "Bravo"!
This was the best Oscar show I’ve seen and it was due to the fact that winners actually were moved and thankful and excited to win! This was a show with many moments if tenderness and joy and the actors who won actually deserved to win and were so excited their enthusiasm was wonderful to witness! Beautiful. And I lived that they all worked their way through genre movies and some pretty ordinary movies before a really good role came along and proved them to be on fire in their ability to act their hearts out! This was beautiful and touching and way overdue: celebrate the actors and the achievements of the technical artists and get out of their way and let them speak! This is an Oscars to remember. Loved the reunion of Harrison Ford and Ke Hue Quan! Very moving! Two fine actors get to celebrate their moment together!
Jamie Lee deserved to win and anyone who says otherwise is just jealous of how talented and how humble and how wonderful a person she is. She is always herself when doing an interview and never tries to impress. Congrats !! Sending hugs.
It was a beautiful moment. Jamie Lee has given so many great performances throughout her career and its well deserved to finally be rewarded for her work with an OSCAR.
What a class act. Her humility in "giving it all away," is amazing and so touching the degree to which she connects with those around her. I always liked her, but after seeing her this week, she's my new favorite human.
Just wanna say congratulations to you, Jamie Lee.💗 People love you not just because your talent in playing Deidre in Everything Everywhere but also your beautiful soul. Lots of love to you.
Jamie Lee is who you see. I watched her interact with ladies in Christoph's Salon on Rodeo Drive years ago and was amazed how down to earth, sweet, smart, and outgoing she was, a rare thing in Hollywood. I have had so much respect for her ever since, and am thrilled she won. Yes, what you see is what you get. KUDOS!!!
I was hoping someone, *anybody* brings up true lies loved Freaky Friday so much but man, True Lies ...to THIS day, still bring healing and good vibes. LOVE Jamie, love True Lies, love Por una Cabeza!
I love her! I grew up watching her in the Halloween movies, Terror Train, The Fog and her many other movies and she so deserves this! She is an amazing human being and a stellar actress. Congratulations Jamie!
That was a really good Oscars show and I am SO happy for Jamie Lee Curtis! I have enjoyed her work so much over the years, from "Halloween" and "The Fog" to "Knives Out". Hurrah for you, Jamie!
I have never seen any actor as her age looks like a breath of fresh air. Her natural face zero make up untouched by surgical doctors made her glow. She is super fresh my gosh.
I love Jamie, as a young boy when the movie True Lies came out, it’s the first movie that I know her as an actress, and she was amazing in that movie. I’m so happy to see her won an OSCAR.
I have always been a fan of Jamie Lee Curtis but I am totally in love with her now. Her genuine sense of joy and gratitude along with her compassion for others is truly inspirational. Congratulations, Jamie Lee Curtis!
This was the most joyful and fun Oscars in years. I laughed, cried, and cheered. After the negativity of last year this was the complete opposite and oh so needed.
Hearty congratulations to a very deserving and classy lady! Words cannot describe our collective delight in seeing you recognized. Loved your parents, and they would be filled with pride not only for your accomplishments but for the wonderful woman you are. Looking forward to more memorable performances! 😍
Jamie Lee. I love you So much Queen. You deserve this! You are so talented, beautiful & kind….And you stand in so much gratitude. I Love your beautiful soul. Congratulations 💜🏆
Bravo! I feel my best friend won! She is wonderful, All the years of hard work now really means something to her, I'm sure. Her dad was one of my earliest acting idols. Mom too. Great night for Jamie, great night for the Oscars.
I'm so happy for Jamie Lee. She finally got an Oscar. Her Mother and Father would be so proud of her. I loved her speech at the ceremony. She is so beautiful and amazing. Congratulations, Jamie Lee. Love You.
OH MY GOD!!!! I Just Found out about this!!! I AM SO INCREDIBLY HAPPY FOR HER!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU JAMIE LEE!!!!! CONGRADULATIONS!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! I've Been a Huge Fan Ever Sinse Your movie ''Halloween'' 1978!!!!!! 😃😃🌻🌻🌿🌿
After the way Angela Bassett dissed her and was a sore loser, couldn't clap or stand for her.. I'm so glad for JLC win! Lose with dignity Win with dignity
Angela Bassett did lose dignity. You will never understand what it’s like to be in that situation. Where you are at the pinnacle of success in your chosen field and achieving something you have dreamed of your whole life. Just to have it snatched away in a millisecond. The emotions of something like that are so complicated and raw. Angela Bassett did not rush the stage, she didn’t run out of the room thus drawing attention to herself. No she sat there quietly and accepted it with dignity
