She’s probably the type of aunt that like catches you smoking, let’s you finish the joint then explains why you shouldn’t do stuff like that but is cool about it.
Jamie Lee Curtis is and will always be Laurie Strode and I love how she never forgets where her career actually started and that was with the original Halloween she's awesome cx
Indeed!!! Scout Taylor Compton was terrible in playing Laurie Strode in the Rob Zombie versions. Only Jamie Lee Curtis is the best in playing Laurie Strode.
Yep Jamie Lee Curtis is a total Badass had been a fan of her since I was 10 and watched Freaky Friday and then I started discovering her work and realized she did horror movies and I watch them all and that's where I became more of a big fan of her
Halloween Hound Her story makes her sound like she went off the deep end here. I mean, she DOES realize that Laurie Strode is a fictional character, right? I mean, Bob was killed in the 1978 version, should men start wearing name tags that read “we are all Bob”? Her demeanor was okay in this interview. “I sell yogurt that makes you shit” SMH. I’m far from prudish, but I found her recent interview with Fox about Halloween to be laden with gratuitous F-bombs and almost a stubborn nature towards some of the questions that were asked. She almost seemed like she was trying to be too badass and it just didn’t take. This seemed like a desperate feminist rant. Umm, it’s a movie!
I love hearing Jamie talk about themes in the Halloween movies. She has such a deep connection to the story and the more I hear her talk about it the more I fall in love with it.
I love Jaime Lee Curtis !!!! Her performance was spectacular . .. the scene where she watches Micheal leave on the bus to be transferred was a charged moment. Even though her character is prepared for Micheal , the tension in the story is increased , not decreased ! My arms were flailing throughout the movie! A worthy sequel and a knockout role for Jaime!
This woman is not great, she’s a legendary institution. What she has contributed, is just beyond amazing. Bravo Jamie. You’re so inspiring. Congratulations on your amazing success. You deserve everything you get.
“Here are strong women coming to the front taking their rightful place in the storytelling” Didn’t all the female characters she mentioned exist since the 1970s and have been beloved by male and female genre fiction fans for decades? Isn’t the horror genre (and slasher subgenre especially) mostly male fans cheering on female leads? Enough nonsense. When you look at the real numbers and stats, things in America are way more equal than half of the media presents. Enough of the condescending actors talking AT me.
I just fought with a group of guys last night about them being sick of female leads, so no, its not "men cheering on female characters". Women only make up like, 40-something percent of protagonists in horror which is the biggest number of any genre.
Zach Engel and roughly 42% of horror audiences are women, so 40ish% doesn't sound insane or inaccurate to reflect viewer tastes. When you look at the protagonists of most horror icons like Michael, Freddy, Jason, etc., the majority of them are female characters that leave lasting impressions. You are also giving anecdotal evidence based on your shitty friends, who are surely sick of these kinds of discussions about "tough chick" roles that are often one-dimensional and only exist to be political instead of high quality. You've been indoctrinated to mindlessly defend this great oppression that only exists in anecdotal person to person exchanges in 2018, unless you think the horror audience is full of sexists?
The sibling thing was always crap,it gave Michael a motive and as stated clearly in the film he has no motive,John Carpenter wanted the sibling tie gone to make Myers more scary, cause what’s more scary,if you know why the character is doing this or if you don’t and like a lot of violent acts in the world it’s just random,it’s very true to life, lots of women, men even get stalked by random people they’ve never met and that’s very disturbing.
Decades and decades and Decades of strong, self-reliant, men in films. Crickets chirping A handful of recent films featuring women with those same qualities. Oh my God feminist agenda feminist agenda!!
Saw the film on Friday. I think the audience I saw it with would agree "We want our money back." Halloween is all hype. It's not scary at all, it's a mess.
Not only was she smart enough to create a well-rounded career, but she successfully carved her own path out from under both of her famous parents. Was really glad to see her back in the 2018 movie, she was just as awesome as ever.
I just love the way she tells a story. I hang on her every word. I find her so authentic that every character she plays, especially the character of Laurie Strode, is just so relatable and you want them to conquer their demons.
Jaime Lee Curtis is by far my favorite character when it comes to actresses. Plus add factor Halloween is my favorite holiday and movie love the music. I would love to be able to meet Jaime Lee Curtis.
Jamie Lee Curtis is good friends with Sigourney Weaver. She has recognized her many times in interviews. To me, the best heroines of horror will always be Laurie Strode and Ellen Ripley.
see i like laurie, arash conner, ellen ripley, because they are fully developed characters, not just thrown in to check the equality box, and I think Jamie Lee understands great story telling, Im always immersed in the older movies like Halloween Alien and Terminator.
What exactly are his powers? The ones we've heard of are healing the sick, raising the dead, turning water to wine, taking the blame for my fuckups...honestly, he sounds like a great guy to have at a party, but not much of an adversary. As sons of God go, I'd be much more worried about having to fight Thor.
Brother/sister story made since, this story does not make since in this film. Original Halloween ll is way better. People like to knock on the h2 film cause it was mostly in a hospital and it was empty. I've been treated in small town hospital in Indiana and it reminded me of it , how quiet and dark it was at night.
American turkey burger. I as a Halloween fan. Have always felt that the brother sister story line added motive he's not supposed to have a motive he's evil incarnate he kills without Rhyme or Reason that's what this movie does and he is so much more terrifying because in the first one he didn't have a reason for killing
You're supposed to see this new movie as the only sequel to the original. While watching this movie you have to forget parts 2- whatever ever existed. Michael attacked her in 1978, was put in a mental institution and here she is now. We are getting to see what happened to her because of that one night.
What are you even talking about? She has shared this many times. She didn't get pidgeon holed after Halloween II (1981), because she DIDN'T do horror movies. After a lenghty break, she came back to horror in Halloween H20: Twenty Years Later (1998) and Halloween: Resurrection (2002). Then, of course again in Scream Queens and finally in this current trilogy, which launched back in 2018. Over the latter years, she did An Acceptable Loss (2018), Knives Out (2019), Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022) and the upcoming Borderlands movie adaption. So no, she didn't get pidgeon holed. 🙂
Stop talking about it and just make movies. She proved her point. Sarah Connor, Sigourney Weaver. How late is this lady. That was nearly 40 years ago...
