The engangement almost didn't happen when security guards stopped a rehearsal at the original location. But they moved to new "even better location" with the help of Disney officials as it turned out, the couple said. ANAHEIM - Valerie Albania was completely relaxed walking through Downtown Disney, having just enjoyed a day off from her nursing job with her boyfriend and a few close friends inside the Happiest Place on Earth. Her boyfriend, Jamin Love, was anything but relaxed as they walked back to the car. His heart raced and his palms began to sweat as he mentally rehearsed the plan to make Valerie one of the happiest girls on Earth. Just outside the movie theaters and the Rainforest Cafe, the music began to blare and Jamin and Valerie stopped in their tracks. Two of their friends, twin girls, jumped out and began to dance - in unison. Then, six more joined in as Bruno Mars’ “Marry You” boomed. “I thought, ‘That’s weird, what are the twins doing here dancing?'” said Valerie, 25, a nurse at Children’s Hospital of Orange County. She and Jamin used to dance with them years ago in a Fullerton dance crew. “Then I saw other people I knew (join in) and I was … just confused.” Jamin (pronounced jah-MEEN), 26, watched in pretend surprise as a crowd of hundreds quickly gathered to watch. Then, just over a minute into the song, Jamin plunged into the front of flash mob and led 11 other dancers through a choreographed routine of hip-hop dance and other free-flowing moves that expressed his pure joy. His joy at the thought of spending the rest of his life with the woman he’s been in love with for more than five years - and proposing to her in a very public way. Toward the end of the song, Jamin broke from the other dancers, pulled a one-karat, oval-cut diamond ring from a camera bag he’d had attached to his waist all day, and bent to one knee. Valerie cupped her hands over her mouth in shock. Sunglasses hid her tears. Never liking to be the center of attention, she backed away, until a friend pushed her toward Jamin. “I couldn’t speak,” she said. “I could only nod to say yes.” Jamin, a Cal State Fullerton graduate and the manager of a Target store, spent six weeks surreptitiously planning the dance routine, meeting with dancers after hours at the Marvels Dance studios in Walnut, where he and Valerie direct younger dancers at least once a week. He recruited other friends to video tape the whole thing from various angles. He’d forgotten to get Disney’s permission. But with a few last-minute texts to friends and assistance from Disney security, the flash mob was moved to an even better, more spacious location. “I wanted to have a record, something we could play at our wedding and say, ‘Remember that day?'” Jamin said. The video went up on RU-vid a day after the Sept. 25 proposal. In less than a week, the clip has been viewed more than 500,000 times, with publicity on the Huffington Post and PerezHilton.com, as well as TV’s “The Insider.” The Marvels Dance Company’s Facebook page has been flooded with well-wishes: Compliments on pulling off the proposal. Strangers who say they were moved to tears. Even a wedding photographer who said she was touched by the story and wanted to offer her services - for free. “We’re just very humble people and can’t believe it’s getting this kind of attention,” Valerie said during a break from her 12-hour shift at CHOC on Sunday. “It’s amazing. We are just so thankful for the outpouring of love and support,” she said. “But what’s most amazing is that I get to marry this man who I love so much.” The couple is planning a May wedding.
