Such an AWESOME interview! When Kenny asked if the guitar was in a "regular tuning" I was already laughing.

You know how incredibly talented JR is when I can say I fell in love with him before I ever saw him lol....I was sitting in my car in a CVS parking lot in Massachusetts when Name came on the radio. I was glued to every lyric and began to weep. My next thought was I gotta find out who wrote this. Been hooked since. I resonate with his entire personality and statements in pretty much every interview. He'll always be my #1 Rocker Writer Artist. You don't forget when a song brings you to tears. It's a religious experience.

I remember very well listening to you with my first girlfriend back in the 1990s and we had so many great memories together! She passed away at age 43 from pancreatic cancer, and she was a beautiful blue eyed, dark hair size 8 wonderful person that I was with for almost 20 years. the world sure misses her and I wanted to reach out to you and say thank you so much for the memories!

The end point that I got from this, is there can be drum machines, software that can sound like a guitar, even AI that could have amazing vocals, but, it has no creativity. At the end of the day, nothing will ever replace heart felt true live music. Sure we can have synths, drum machines, samples and auto tune, but when it comes down to it, the heart of music will be people like the ones in this interview.

Should have mentioned it before. But, the two of them bouncing knowledge and experience back and forth made watching this very entertaining. Just the experience between the both of them. I’ve watched this a few times. Love it guys. Truly a great watch.

I was just on the camera crew at a smaller show the Goo Goo Dolls did in my area and the few times I had to go backstage I was amazed by the number of guitars I saw. I've been to Guitar Centers with fewer guitars. I regretfully didn't know many of their songs going into the event, but afterward, I had a whole new appreciation. It was an amazing show, and I got to see the band interact with several people behind the scenes and they seemed super down to earth. They definitely earned a fan that day. Also the part at 16:07 really hits home. I've been having those thoughts a lot recently so it helps to know that experience isn't uncommon. I feel like I should have had to pay money to listen to this conversation lol. great stuff from two amazing creatives.

I really enjoy your conversations Kenny with you and John such great story tellers great podcast and shows . I went and seen the John on Saturday night and I was blown away unbelievable. He was touring with matchbox 20 . The only part of the show I hated is when the goo goo dolls finished there set . Could have listened to them dudes all night long. Hope the goo goo dolls tour Australia next year .
