Curious as to why Triathletes who take up swimming past their teens have such a problem on the swim leg? If you put the time inn on the bike or run you get better, but swimming does not correlate in the same way.

I think its down to body shape, and neutral bouyancy good swimmers were picked out young because they were naturally faster alot faster.

I had another approach to always find some criteria where i did well. Even a bad race has a positive thing to take home. But bullshitting yourself wont work. I would find even 1k i ran well. There is always a positive.

Triathlon GOATs are Alistair Brownlee and Javier Gomez. Frodo is a legend, but he is number 3 in this generation. Basically Frodo moved to long distance because he was nowhere near racing with this guys. What Gomez did from 2006 till 2017 and Alistair did from 2009 till 2017 is never seen in triathlon as a sport. Gomez is 5x ITU world champion and he has over 40 WTS podiums plus over 10 WC wins from 2006-2008. It is waaaay more than Norway and Germany combined. Alistair is 2x olympic champion and 21 WTS winner. His winning ratio in WTS is over 70%. On the other hand Frodo moved to ironman because he never won a WTS race against Alistair and Gomez from 2009-2013. Sanders is not in Triathlon long enough to remember how dominant Gomez&Brownlee were. Long distance athletes often forget how tough ITU circuit is. Sanders would never finish in TOP40 in WTS race and ITU athletes (Frodo, Blumi, Iden, Gomez, Brownlee all managed to win Ironman race, and some of them were over the hill or battling injuries when they did it)

There is short distance/olympic triathlon and there is long/mid-distance triathlon. AB and JG did rock short distance many times (olympics, world champs) and "failed" long distance (they won only normal Ironman races), Jan did win short distance one big time (2008) and did rock long distance many times (world champ Ironmans and 70.3). So it is kind of from what angle you look at it, I guess.

@@MatzeMumpitz you somehow forgot that JG also won 2 70.3 WC titles without even preparing for it. 3 ironman world titles can’t be worth the sam as 5 ITU world titles, 40+ WTS podiums, X-terra world championships title, 2x 70.3 we titles etc… Beside winning 3x Kona Frodo won only olympic gold and 1 WTS race. AB won 2 Olympic gold and 22 WTS titles. And winning WTS race is harder than winning Kona. Even Iden never won WTS race

@@zwtvchannelWhat you just said is fucking retarded. IM World Championships is disproportionately both more competitive and prestigious in triathlon than the Olympics. The Olympics might be the top dog in other sports, but not triathlon.
