It's funny how so many dream of being a star, yet I've never had the feeling that for JMV it ever resulted in a happy life at all. And I don't dislike the guy; seems more real/honest than most Hollywood types.
@@TheProfessorpat Sadest thing is the guy was my hero when I was 8, I was too small to realise he had drinking issues + people mags here in France were not really focusing on that, they were showing center page of a surprinsingly good looking guy who had an amazing career, who was living the American Dream .. Little did I know that the producers of the show a couple years later offered him a JackPot salary for a 5th season if he went into rehab and stayed clean (that part was reported in 3 lines in the back of the TV guide, the gossip section) .. I was devasated literally to see him go downhill that way 😥😓😓
It saddens me that Jan's personal conflicts hindered many prospects for him to gain further recognition after Airwolf wrapped up back in '86. They'll never make quality actors like him again, sigh!
He keeps repeating what his father said to him - "You don't like to work, best go.be an actor". No wonder he ended up where he did with that story continually playing in his head - you're not good enough to do anything else.
to bad he is not doing we well these days..when the new cast took over the show wasn't as good. airwolf and jan micheal were both mysterious and that worked well in the show.
Choices have consequences and JMV's have certainly taken their accumulated toll; I feel bad for the guy. I do not know if there was anyone along the way to step in to try to talk some sense into him at any point or not but a person has to be willing/want to change their ways in order to change. Nothing against him personally but I cannot help but wonder what kind of Airwolf series we would have gotten if Donald Bellisario had not gone with JMV....
Flawed logic in previous replies. If Don had gone with another actor for String: that actor would be default String and you’d be defending him against Jan or any other actor because his image would be burned into your minds. Personally I only wished Jan hadn’t been drunk and that studio should have kept their noses out of it by not shoving Caitlin in it and softening the tone of the show. That’d have kept the series going.

Caroline Stratfull oh my! he was just stunning no other man comes close. I tell ya if I ever did get him in my bed back then he would never leave ha. The things I do to him! ha😗😙😚😂
Iker 77 hahaha I fell in love with him at about 12, when Airwolf screened in the UK... Nearly 34 years later and they're currently rerunning it here and I'm still gazing at the TV screen and thinking disgusting thoughts 😂😂😂
The irony of what he said about "trouble", as during the filming of this 2nd Season episode ("SINS Of THE PAST") in Catalina Island he got his arm broken (you can see it in half the scenes of this episode - e.g. Opening chapel door with his Left hand, then cradling his arm for the next scene inside the chapel; also the intruder scene with Aaron at the house at night cradling arm on couch); and the next few episodes) due to a DRUNKEN row with his wife and the police. I have no sympathy for him at all.
