In my personal opinion, ASU missed the golden opportunity to let the talents or this rare young lady to excel the band in a new direction. She was so talented, slayed each week, and took the spot light. Instead of being jealous or whatever the leaders were, they should have embraced it and changed their season to feature “HER!” Before you start to say that she was just one person, I ask you to review the entire season and read the comments on “WHY” people watched the band last year!

Gonna miss Janae as captain idc idc! This girl actually made people come back to watch the stings along with Asia and on up to Janae now. She made the season her own even through what she had to endure. She brought a whole different flavor and energy to the team. Gonna definitely miss this sting baby and I hope she soars with her dance career. Now I said what I said

I see some comments saying they wish her legacy wasn't tainted by the negativity that happened with her but the thing is, she left such a mark that honestly it's not even going to be as big of a factor. She's young as well as the other dancers on the team, so yes mishaps especially being attacked by a very fucked up old man, among other things, can cause emotion to show. She still held it down as a captain in spite her emotions. The only way the negativity can shine more is if folks are hell bent on not letting it go. She gave us legendary in one season, that will be remembered more than anything else. We finally got a Janae video, how about we just enjoy the talent. Because we all know low key or high key, we can't wait to see what she's going to do post season.
Awesome. Janae is a fave of mine ever since her YCDT days, such a captivating entertaining dancer and will certainly be missed this upcoming season. Janae definitely delivered as Stingettes Captain and left her mark on the HBCU dance world. Wishing her many blessings and Godspeed.

Hurricane Janae was one of the strongest Stingettes ever to make landfall at Alabama State. She was a Category 5 hurricane which caused major jealousy. I wish this talented, beautiful young lady nothing but the best! 🎓 🙌🏽

Rose Amberzine That is true but she can pay homage to both just as she supastrutted the last game bowing out for her captain era. Mrs. Traci did a beautiful thing with foundation but Amber also guided her towards woman-hood and sensuality.

Yes, Amber may have molded her as a Stingette CRAB, but Traci DEFINITELY molded her into the dancer she is. Everything from technique, to timing, to cleanliness, etc. Even when she was the Stingette captain, you could see elements of Traci (that legendary jazz walk/strut for example). Give Traci her props too; what you see here is not all Amber. Traci deserves her flowers.
