Janapada Impu (ಜನಪದಇಂಪು) a series of Kannada Folk songs, is an attempt to present Janapada Songs in its simplest raw form without the use of any musical instruments. In this Educational Series we present to you many Janapada songs which you can learn, hum along and sing.
We continue the series with another popular Kannada folk song “Ashada Masa Bandeetavva”. The song beautifully captures the emotions of a woman who is awaiting her brother to take her back to her parents’ home in the month of 'Ashada' of the rainy season, which is a custom in many parts of Karnataka.
Friends, our ancestors have gifted us this wonderful folk song. These songs beautifully capture the emotions tied to the changing seasons and portray them with delicate feelings. It also shows our deep connection with nature and help to carry on the legacy. They remind us about the unique cultural practices that our ancestors have handed down to us.
