What do you think is the "Mental health issue" Bertha has? Cause the only thing I am sure of is that she likes to set fires.

Thanks for your insight. Was one of my favourite novels growing up. Interesting to find out how interested the Bronte children were in illnesses. Mental illness was barely touched on or understood at that time - even up to very recently in the 20th Century. I know because I was a nurse in the 1970’s and have seen some progress, but not as much as you would hope.
