Ms. Thomas, I think what your father and yourself have done for St. Jude is just, well, there are no words that I can write that would express the admiration and love that I feel for you both. My nephew is still alive because of your tireless work. Gd bless you, always and forever.
Marlo- this is off topic from the video, but I just wanted to say THANK YOU for "Free to be You and Me"! I was in 1st grade when that came out, and I am 50 years old now. You taught me soo much with that album, that have helped me through life, and I have tried to pass those lessons on to my niece and nephews. Kudos to you, and thank you!!!!!
This helps a woman like me who feels 40 and is turning 60 at the end of 2019, to not feel that life is over. Yea! Currently, both these women are 81 and still going strong. I recommend listening to them be interviewed any time you can simply to see their postive attitudes and survivor attitudes!
I love you both for different reasons. Both have been very influential to me over the years. But Jane you intelligence and wisdom never cease to amaze me. I am a also a senior and so admire you.
I adore Jane Fonda. She cared about the world, not just herself. And she is always, always, always honest in interviews. Such a striving person. And a wonderful actress.
@@Poetic_Justice1962 Give it a break already Hanoi Jane she's a disgrace to everyone who served in Vietnam.. including the women who mopped the blood as nurses.pathetic .how old are you little children?????
Plus they are the same age exactly but when Jane said her age so confidently, I’m surprised Marla didn’t say oh, the same age exactly I forget exactly what was said, but I guess she doesn’t want you to know her age
I remember watching her exercise videos in the '80s and thinking she was headed for multiple hip and knee replacements in the years to come---I was right
That was so very wonderful. You were wonderful and Jane was wonderful. Thanks for sharing this lovely visit. Happy to have found your channel as well so I am now a happy subscriber. Cheers!
Marlo - So awesome to see you and Jane together and to discover your show here on RU-vid I have always loved both of you and you make aging look easy. Thanks for being an inspiration!
Marlo...have just stumbled upon these RU-vid videos...and I must say...I am enjoying them IMMENSELY!! I love the casual "friend to friend" format...and this one is just delightful! I love Jane...and of course always loved you (NO...not buttering up either). I actually met you years ago when you came to Huntington, W.Va. (my hometown) with Phil when he was doing the traveling "Phil Donahue Show". I even got your autograph...and remember you as being as bubbly and sweet as you are today. THANK you for these!!! I'm hooked now!
Two remarcable women! Lots of great and inspirational advice on aging gracfully from Jane, staying strong and keeping a positve attidude. Thank you Marlo and Jane.
First time I tune in to Marlo on Mondays and I am so happy I did because Jane Fonda has been a favorite of mine for so long. I’m 77 and have followed her life always. I like her acting, I believe in the causes she’s fought for and I think she’s a very beautiful Lady. I’m glad I joined you tonite. God bless you both! By the way New Mexico is a wonderful place to recoupe and I find it very spiritual…it’s in the air….thank you both for this show. 28:39
I just discovered Mondays with Marlo. I've seen several of these videos and this one is my favorite. Marlo and Jane are long-time inspirations of mine. Marlo, if by any chance you are still in production (or have similar projects in mind ) please interview Valerie Harper. Thanks.
What is the difference between Marlo and JANE AGE. THIS IS 11 YEARS AGO. AND THEY ARE STILL BEAUTIFUL. Is Jane Fonda still alive. She would be 84 years old. I just saw this interview and really needed it!!! I wish I had seen this 11 years ago. I followed JANE BUT DIDN'T TAKE HER ADVICE ON WORK OUT.REGRETFULLY AM PAYING FOR IT NOW!!! 2-25-2024 I do know ladies who are70+ and did the exercise. Etc and look and feel wonderful. Unfortunately for myself. I didn't. I shared this video with many other women; EVENTHOUGH it is 11 years old.
Why isn`t anyone offering to produce Marlo Thomas with her own talk show already !! This ideal of including the viewing audience in on the questions is certainly genuine but also tremendously reflective of this digital age. The approach is refreshing and somehow Miss Thomas makes it all very interesting. And not to forget to mention what she does with the money she earns !! I would love to see this on TV. Although I will watch faithfully on you tube. Anyone know the "live link" for this show? Thank you Marlo Thomas for bringing us people we love to hear from !! Who else would I love to see? Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren - the first three guest episode. People need to hear from them in their own words. Bernie Sanders. People who don`t have the advantage of being in the public eye often, if that makes sense.
When Jane's autobiography came out, she went to different bookstores across the US & Canada. When I found out she was coming to a Borders (remember those?) a half hour from my house, I got my ass there a few hours early. My mom is a huge fan of the Fonda's and I knew an autographed copy of Jane's book would be the perfect birthday gift. I was near the front of the line, and after a large coffee, I was hoping I wouldn't wet myself. Jane was sitting at a table with some VERY large men near her, for obvious reasons. I was so nervous, I was hoping I wouldn't say something stupid. Well, she couldn't have been nicer, very warm & welcoming. There were people asking for hugs, people asking to her sign all kinds of things. One lady told Jane she loved her hair, Jane thanked her & the woman just reached out and touched it! If Jane was shocked by that, she never let on. I was on automatic pilot by the time I got to her desk. When I told her the book was my mom's birthday present, she asked me how old she would be & how was her health. I told Jane the truth, the she was fighting breast cancer. Maybe Jane thought I looked like I was going to cry, but really I had to pee & I was so nervous my stomach was churning. Well, she stood up & wrapped her arms around me & told me in a comforting voice that she wished my mom the best of luck. Of course, I hugged her back gently. She had a solid upper body, no flabby jiggle on those arms! People who say it's all plastic surgery, well you can buy a solid healthy body. Her face is more beautiful than it appears on screen or in pictures, of course she had wrinkles, but nothing like most women her age. Her eyes seemed to sparkle. she just radiated health. If she has had any face work, it's minimal & was done by a top surgeon. She doesn't look pulled or bizarre like some stars. There were too many people waiting, so this all happened fast. I thanked her & ran to the bathroom. Later on that day a Vietnam vet showed up & actually spit in her face! It was all over the news & I was horrified. He got that close, what if he had had a weapon or attacked her? Very disturbing. She just wiped her face off and continued signing. True grace under pressure.
+Miura Mike There are places for people who spit in someone's face. We all make mistakes and she may have made one with the Vietnam war. However, she has asked everyone's forgiveness FOR YEARS and it is time to move on. We all have to pay for what we do on this Earth. That vet who spat in her face will definitely get his just rewards.
Reg5016 =Madame when did she ask for forgiveness?,you have moved on because you have lost NOTHING,I speak in the name of people whose life was destroyed..Had She done anything in favor of those She had help destroy?
@@tranleha1495 good gawd old man. You are a lonely 1 at that. It was probably you who spat in her face...who ever did is a disgusting pig. He could have told her how he felt and had a conversation but pigs dont know how to talk. They only shit on themselves
TRAN LeHa I've heard her speak on it and her regrets over it within the past few years. I get why vets wouldn't like her. But I would think the vet who lives in the past is only cheating themselves from living a good life in the present. What does spitting on an older much wiser Jane really accomplish?
This is such a wonderful interview. There’s something about the generations from that era in Hollywood; they produced such a different class of people. Your style is so real, it feels like someone visiting the house and telling you a story, talking about life. Real life. Not the glitz and glam. Thank you Marlo, and thank you Jane 🙏🏽🤗🤗
Dear Marlo, enjoying your program! Thanks you also for Thank Girl! It has pullled me out of a serious physical mental illness. I laughed and laughed the endorphins soared. I love you! Sandi
Jane Fonda was so young in a Dick Cavette show she did and she was trying to get the word out about a country she went to but I cant remember which one - and how much they were suffering and government policies, etc. She has always been head and shoulders above the rest. She was beyond just an actress - she never let herself be just one thing. Look at her at 80 getting unceremoniously arrested every week for protesting for the environment. She always cared. She always tried to do something. She always put herself out there. A great human being.
+Mel Jones Both Jane and Marlo are beautiful women physically,, intellectually and spiritually.I'm grateful for the contributions they made and are making to us (women, men, children and families, to our society.
marlothomas I hope you go on tv as I know many of us would watch it:.) You are so positive.. People like you kind of shame the rest of us for not trying harder. I will say we do have some opposite beliefs however that is true democracy:.) I'm somewhat conservative in areas of patriotism and American culture but hold many liberal ideas especially in areas like the environment and preserving wildlife. Not that you asked any of this but thought you might like to know about the people who comment on your videos. I'm sure your Dad looks down from Heaven with pride at all your work with St. Jude. I wish I could have met him as he always seemed like a kind and gentle man and you are proof of his good parenting.
robert, your vocabulary seems extremely limited.....rather than spending your time sending filthy replies online, why don't you try to invest some time in learning something so you can get a little highter than the bottom rung on the ladder of life?
Thank you thank you thank you! This is such a beautiful, insightful and though-provoking interview. Thank you both Miss Thomas and Miss Fonda for your warmth and wisdom.
YOU GUYS ARE GREAT! I WONT SAY YOU "GALS" BECAUSE I WANT SHOW RESPECT. I especially like the conversation about being married. Jane is so cool the way she admires people that are different than her.
Dear Miss Thomas, I see that you have answered a couple of comments below, so it looks like you are genuinely interested in what people have to say. As a man, I am embarrassed and ashamed for some of the comments below, especially from men. I guess, since writing comments on the internet is anonymous, people think that they have the God-given constitutional right to state their stupidity, ignorance, and hate, which, let's face it, are meant to be as hurtful and offensive as possible. On behalf of my gender, I truly apologize to you, Miss Fonda, and all women reading this.
Alex Garcia =you recognize it or not jane Fonda ia traitor,a salon -socialist .but you deny the truth .At her death !do not forget to bury her in the pantheon ,near to mr Mac Cain, with mention of the dates, not to confound your generation with the USA builders.I am a female so do not bother to renew apology about the man ' s behavior.or scold me ,to stand with your statement.
Hey Tran. You troll every video that has jane fonda and call het names and how shes a traitor and how you hate her etc. YOU WERE NEVER IN VIETNAM AND ARE NOT A VET. My husband is a vietnam vet and weve many friends who are. They dont care about jane fonda. Hanoi jane as you call her. They have gotten on w their lives and are aware of her remorse of that time. WTH is your problem? Perhaps you just hate strong beautiful women. Yer prez trump is a traitor but I didnt come to this video w hopes on talking about vietnam, trump or politics period. Im sure Ill see another fonda video and if I read the comments there you will be again complaining about hanoi jane
How many times does she have to apologize for that!. How many times has she says that she regrets that part of her life and that she will take it to her grave with regret.
I think the interviews should be at least an hour instead of 30 minutes. Why squeeze it in? If you're going to do 30 minutes at least do Part I and Part I to have a full hour. Some people you can do 30 minutes to but Jane Fonda isn't one of them. You answered the questions wonderfully well Jane! I love Jane and Marlo together. I adore Jane.
i always liked marlo thomas and her family. I remembered seeing her and her brother Tony in a NYC cafe years ago. They are great people...her brother Tony was a chunky devil in his teens though RIP danny thomas!!!!!!!!!!
I love Marlo Thomas--she has this comforting voice, like that of a that sweet and favorite aunt everyone knows. I fell in love with That Girl. Jane looks great for her age and is very wise, but lacks Marlo's sweetness--its all in their voices.
I just found Mondays with Marlo and im so sad its not still in production. I have to say this was one of the best interviews of all time. Two of the greats- giving us all hope and joy about life and aging. God Bless you both!!
THIS 2019 AND JANE ANNOUNCED SHE TURNED 80 UNBELIEVABLE.. I USE HER AS EXAMPLE WHEN I HIT THAT AGE...SHE LOOKS TERRIFIC ... HER HAIR STYLE AND HER FIGURE HOW SHE DRESSES AS A MATURE WOMAN SHE AMAZES ME SO.MUCH.. SHE ENSPIRES ME SO.MUCH.
HahahA!jane Fonda fights for Human rights ,for the communists to kill the non communists ,why did She keep silent when the 2 millions of Cambodians were beheaded after 1975.I hope She end up like those She helped killed...to understand their throes. Were She to live under communist ruling She would die the very day.
Both look AMAZING AND ADORABLE! JF will always be Bree and Barbarella! MT will always be That Girl! Their fathers were legends. Their brothers were legends. Their activism is absolutely wonderful! Check out St. Jude and the workout videos...😇😇😍😚😚
65 years of age and I am a male. I'm also disabled I tried to work at like walk with my water as much as I can but I like to go to car shows I like old Cadillacs and I have a really nice 84 Cadillac convertible. So I'm thinking if I want with my water around swap meets that's my exercise. I have real bad hips cars from osteoporosis but because of poor blood circulation it's been recommended that I do not have any hip or thigh operations because they feel that I could die on the operating table. I'm on a blood thinner 18000 units a day it's a needle that I have to take everyday in my stomach. But I really would like to know how do I exercise the top half of my body? I eat as much as I can't good food as possible.
ironically that coming from a person' who's avatar is a woman's bare backside:.) lol and yes they both are very beautiful and sexy. proving women are attractive at any age. Especially Marlo
