She was the first black female in pop to take command of her sexuality in her imagery. The first to do a lapdance as a pop artist. Rappers always use to sexualise women in music and she did the controversial thing to reverse it. Her If video is a testimant to that ground breaking door she allowed for Beyonce,Britney, Riri,Meghan etc, to do what they can do so freely.

2 things with this particular performance. Number 1, from what I heard, when she came out on stage, she wore an emerald green floor length fur trench coat with the collar popped up and was walking all of her dancers on leashes, but that part has never been shown and I don't think that that part was ever recorded. And number 2, that one girl that turned and walked away there towards the end of the performance, I think somebody had said that that was his girlfriend/wife and she was pissed. With that being said, Janet had to out do her Would You Mind performance. Also, when she did this song during the short lived tour, there was 2 versions to what she did to the guy. One was she grabbed his head and shoved it into her breasts and the other is she would kiss the guy full on on the lips, I guess it just depended on her mood that night.
