This track is one of Janet Jackson’s iconic R&B classic jams . So underrated back then but Now appreciated as an R&B classic. The song has such a groove and vibe, with mellow down beat box jam to it. Thank you J Dilla, Q-Tip, Janet & the famous Joni Mitchell for giving us a classic to be remembered for ever
Gil, her former dancer from The Velvet Rope Tour, was the choreographer for the SOTW Tour. I think Tina Landon was her best choreographer, followed by Marty Kudelka.
At first I wasn't feeling GTIG choreography. But the closer I look at it, that aint easy. Its like a spacy groove that you have to FEEL and it that rides DEEP inside of the beat. This isnt a keep your count and wham bam thank you mamn piece of choreography. You have to FEEL it. And she's doing all of that while singing and maintaining her connection with the crowd.
So sad the choreographies are not the same as before. I really don't feel the way people dance these days. It's just so... IDK, short and fast moves... And they all dance the same. BORING. I miss Janet's vintage choregraphies with long extensions, leg lifts, etc etc. They don't do that anymore
I used to think the same but if you actually look at it, it's more intricate than people think. Its a piece of choreography that rides DEEP inside of the beat.
The problem is that I know all too well what I’d “got” if it pleased her to have me to call her mine..... Hmmmm.... not so much a problem.... more like a blessing. At least I know who I want to spend time with more than any other woman in the world. 🌹
Janet makes it look as good as she can, but Gil's choreography still fails her. I would best describe Gil's style as "Spastic Hula Dancing". Even if she can't bring Tina back, she's got to find someone better. I can easily find 5 choreographers on RU-vid within 5 minutes who've done a better job with this song.
Janet looks and dances really nice on this video but sorry she is not a singer. If I'd gone to her concert to see her dance I'd probably be okay with her performance but, If I expected to hear her sing I'd be ticked off.
