I hate to even think of comparing the two. Actually, I won't but I will go with the idea that Janet Jackson has definitely paved the way for so many female artists who sing and dance at the same time. She's just a great all around performer and gives her all to the crowd. Such feminine sexuality and confidence. I love it.
She'll always be the Queen!!! Going ALL THE WAY back to the 80's. She paved the road for so many others... The JLOs & Beyonces, etc. I wish she would continue to tour & make albums!!!
If Janet was to record a new album it wouldn't sell like her old albums. Music today has changed so much it sucks I have to be honest. Most artist today can't even sing well they all need some type of help. Either a backing track or autotune or something. And trust me I'm telling you this cause I know from people who tour with certain artists. It pisses me off to know people are spending good money on a ticket and the artists might sing maybe half of the show live. That's stealing pretty much. But in order for Janet to have a huge hit album major money would have to be put into the project cause the record company has to pay to get that record promoted as well and they only do it if they honestly feel the artists is worth it. I tell you this. Back in the day people would call in to radio stations and request records to be played and the stations will play the song. Today it's completely changed. Record Companies pay the Radio Stations big money to have there artist music played and like I said the record companies pay lots of money. And they only do that if they feel the artists is worth it. Telling you no Lies. That is why the music industry has changed completely. That is why music sucks today mostly.
@@rickyparrilla2426 while I agree with there is sooo much watered down talent nowadays . If it's good folks will buy it or listen to it plain and simple I think a lot has to do with more marketing and promotion

I seen Janet on her Rhythm Nation tour at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. Still today... the most entertaining and kick ass all around concert.Womsn"s been all over the charts steady since early 80's. I bow to her career
You go Ms. Janet dancing is still great and you are showing these other female performers that you can still wear clothes and be classy not trashy. Because it's a shame that female singers and rappers today need to be naked in their videos and on stage to have viewers to watch them how degrading.
Did any of you forget how Madonna was? Even Janet (sometimes) performed in half naked clothes. However, it is getting worse with most of the younger generations.
She ain't dancing , doing much walking. I get she's older but if you don't have it like you use to don't tour and put on shows. We gonna always love Janet and the beast she was. love for her in our hearts always.💜
I don't mean this as a diss or read but I have never ever since 1986 seen Janet Jackson sing Live and when I say Live I mean Live Vocals, For Real, Microphone 🎤 on 100%. Just saying. Like Tina Turner Live!!!

If you're a Janet fan you've seen and heard Janet sing live throughout her entire career. . But just like some entertainers , Janet,as well you hear their audio recording behind them so they aren't totally live. Plus when you do all that intense dancing,back to back,like Janet does,and gotta sing too?! I understand. Now our 80's entertainers danced,sung,played instruments and all live. Janet came along I believe in the 90's when most intense dancing, singing entertainers had audio behind them.
@@pimphandstrong Buddy sorry to tell you this but she isn't singing live in the minutes I saw of this footage. That is why I wrote the first commaent. She says a few things in between lipsyncing but doesn't mean she is singing live. I have worked in the field and have friends who tours with many artists today in charge of the artists sound board and years before and they always tell me how many artists do not sing live while on tour. It's horrible because people paid to see a live show. That is why I mentioned Tina Turner cause Tina is a Real artists who gives you a live show and sings live from the first song to the very last. Hardly any of these artists today can do that!!!
@@rickyparrilla2426 most artists who sing & dance use backing tracks, it's no secret. but trust, janet was definitely sanging, maybe not 100% of the time, but she indeed was sanging. iWas there & witnessed it in person. tina is great, but she ain't no janet. 💯
@@pimphandstrong No Tina is definitely not no Janet. Tina is definitely what you call a Living Legend who has always sung live from beginning to end and was doing so since the 1960's. Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Twice!!!!! There is no comparison WHATSOEVER and even Janet will agree to that. A real artist does not need a backing track or autotune. That's what is ruining the craft of true musicianship today. Artist from back in the day just needed a Microphone and a good band. That's All cause it was all about the singing and music!!! Nothing Else. Tina was Tina. Janet had help cause of her brother's and family name. Tina is so Legendary she just needed Tina!!!!! But Janet is cute I'll give her that.
