Although I understand what you mean but everybody is overshadowed by Michael. Janet being able to enter the music industry was because of Michael and his brothers because of they paved the road to make it possible just like Latoya got in because of her brothers. You see a lot of MJ style in Janet, so at the very least she is influenced by him. The Jackson estate recently received a plaque for 100 million records sold of Thriller. That alone overshadows everybody. Michael being the most awarded artist in history and receiving exclusive awards like the presidential awards, legend awards, artist of the millennium, MJ is the reason Superbowl half time show is what it is to this day. Etc. With all that success it would be very difficult for any Jackson to top Mike. It would take 3 Janet's to equal 1 Mike. The closest artist to ever come to Michael legendary status is Prince but even he was a great distance away.
@@seedking40 Nah Janet Jackson was definitely just as big as Michael. She created her own lane. No artist in history has ever infused num chucks into intricate 8 count choreography, not even Michael. She even surpassed him at one point and was earning more money than him as well. Put some respect on her name. She worked for it
@@ralphangel561Janet is not just as big as MJ and we both know that’s a lie. The impact that MJ had is worldwide and bigger than all his contemporaries combine only bob marley and Beatles come close. MJ revolutionized stage performance and didn’t have to do high energy choreography to do it, even though he could do put some respect on his name because we can uplift Janet without trying to play in MJ’s face. MJ revolutionized choreography and music videos & the method Of creating Short films in music videos that artists still till this day and Janet would follow. This isn’t about who’s paid more this is about who’s impact holds more weight and When it comes to impact in all areas, it’s not even close. He changed the game for stage performance and like I said didn’t need theatrics like Madonna and didn’t need choreography or a 8 count like Paula Abdul and Janet did. He was a NATURAL fluid and smooth.
mute her playback track and here her sing it live would be interesting lmao. not till 2.06 you hear it live and its nothing like the playbacked intro. Its not half as strong. the intro she "wo hoos " and "yeas" and says "sing " etc so you can tell the mics on and ignore the pre recording . She is only mouthing the words though for a lot of it.
@késiena Although it's too late to vote since they closed the site down, she's been inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, and they're having the ceremony in March.
@@shamondavis406 yup this queen really deserved to be in the RRHF ...I was blessed enough to see her live ..which was one of my biggest wish ..and I almost passed out ..lol ....the best female entertainer in history...#queen 👑👑
@@zyoteesunuwar4825 Couldn't agree with you more!! I'd seen her live for the first time in 2008, and danced til my feet were sore..Love me some Miss Janet and long live the Queen of our Rhythm Nation👑🤗
@@wowo1005 hell nah ever seen mj from Jackson 5 era, victory tour, bad tour? Anything no you haven't. Janet relies on choreography while Michael naturally moved to the beat he was a natural dancer who could freestyle on any beat. Janet couldn't because she follows choreography routines. Michael could flawlessly follow choreography as well. You don't believe me? Watch his 2bad/ghosts dance
Just amazing. Her best performance of Rhythm Nation! So glad I got to see it live on The Velvet Rope Tour. Nobody can touch this woman on stage. Easily the best female performer and this right here proves it!!
I found this by a homage in Family Guy!, okay, i'm a 62 year old heavy metal freak, but credit where its due. This is outstanding, i watched the music video of the song, and was blown away. but to do it LIVE takes some guts. Wow, just WOW!!
Damn can y'all stop comparing Beyonce and Janet Jackson and let them be just 2 successful talented black women. Why are y'all so pressed ? Janet will always be one of the best , but just accept the fact that this is Beyonce generation and time now. I'm sure these women have nothing against each other and respect one another. Plus Janet is the Queen of Pop, Beyonce is contemporary R&B, 2 different artist, 2 different dancers, 2 different music, 2 different backgrounds, etc.
Beyonce adamantly states that she is inspired by Janet. You are right, there is no need to compare because they aren't the same! I'm glad someone said it! THANK YOU!
Shheeessssh😨.,.. can we give this woman her roses while she's still alive please. What she has accomplished is legendary and she done' shown the world that she can bring it despite always having being compared to her brothers.. to me her and MJ are the GOATs.. just incredible
Janet tore this performance up. She ain’t came to play with this performance. You can tell in her face. That she wasn’t playing with this performance. Janet will always be the best female performer. There will never be another Janet Jackson.
GOD!!! I LIVED when this stuff was unfolding!!! This WAS our norm!!! Man!!! Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis with Prince, Janet!!! Michael! I mean come...ON!!!! Music was setting a standard!!! These were no copy cats!!! These folks SET the STANDARD!!!
This HBO special received several Emmy's .Janet Jackson was honored with an entire 2 hour special by MTV as a ICON where Destiny Child, Aaliyah, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Pink, and others in Acting, Sports, as well as the entertainment industry expressing how Janet impacted their lives ( it is available on RU-vid). Ciara, Jennifer Lopez , Selena , have also verbally expressed Janets influence. Janet Jackson is The ONLY Artist in history to have Grammy nominations in 5 music genre's , ROCK. (For Black Cat which she wrote the lyrics and guitar riffs), POP, R&B, DANCE and, HIP-HOP. Her Rhythm Nation Album was inducted into The National Recording Registry at the Library of Congress because of its socially conscious content. Janet Jackson celebrated 50 years in the entertainment industry since performing with her siblings in Las Vegas at the age of 7. She is the epitome of a Iconic entertainer who is the BLUEPRINT.
See, this is the pre-iPhone/Smartphone audience. The excitement is contagious!!! Back then, the audience provided the energy. I just watched a 2022 JJ performance and the audience was heavily invested in capturing the moment on their phones. In reality, they lacked all the excitement that fuels those on the stage. That is the sad reality of our times.
Yessss!!!! Formation OG!!!!. One of the greats who paved the way to the new generation of artists Iconic/Legend!!! Give credit to those who came before current artists. Janet is one of the best performers.
Stop trying to Decrown The Bluprint The trendsetter for so many artist just like her Brother theres no comparisons.. This Woman was on TV shows in the 1970s do u know how many little black girls was on tv then 3.... Her Contribution is Outstanding
Perfect! THE best live performance of RN in my opinion!! Everything from the choreography to the costumes to the nun chucks routine were perfect! I wonder if she’d ever consider bringing back the nun chucks routine?🤔🔥🔥
Beyonce Idol is Janet hello she learned from her. Anytime an artist can keep up with her dancers with out missing a beat she is a badd sista. Yes Queen Bey is badd too but let's give Janet her props.
@Diamon. It's not about Beyonce; but Janet is an idol to Beyonce - crystal clear. Janets legacy continues in Beyonces music and Beyonces legacy will continue in another artist music. Normani for example gives a "Beyonce-vibe". That ain't a bad thing; it's a good thing - as long as ppl still recognizea the artists identity and do not lable the artist as some Janet II, Beyonce II or whatsoever (remember Madonna fans trying to label Lady Gaga as some sort of "Madonna wannabe"). That's what artist do: they inspire, influence and give it to the next generation. I'm a huge Janet fan. However, I'm not into Beyonces music - but I respect her stage presence and excellent performances. She is an incredible performer and you don't have to actually like her music to give her credit for that.
5 years when the velvet rope album came out my mom still have that album. I love Janet Jackson so much. I want an Janet Jackson collage with all her albums on my wall
