ABOUT THE GOOD PLACE
From creator Michael Schur (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Parks and Recreation” and “Master of None”) comes a unique comedy about what makes a good person. The show follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, “House of Lies,” “Veronica Mars”), an ordinary woman who enters the afterlife, and thanks to some kind of error, is sent to the Good Place instead of the Bad Place (which is definitely where she belongs). While hiding in plain sight from Good Place Architect Michael (Ted Danson - “Cheers,” “CSI” - in an Emmy Award-nominated performance), she’s determined to shed her old way of living and earn her spot.

She didn't even get *nominated* for Season 3, when in episode 10 she has to play every regular cast member, evolved Janet, neutral Janet, *And* Eleanor pretending to be Jason. That's 6 different characters, 7 characterizations, that she forking *nailed* going unrecognized. And that was all in a single episode, alongside Pretending to be neutral Janet and Bad Janet (I think, I actually can't remember any Bad Janet in this season) during the rest of the season. The level of disrespect, riggery, buffoonery, and shenanigans I can't.

D'Arcy literally did steal the show. Mike Schur apparently had an overall plan for things, but we also knew Janet was intended to be basically an Alexa-style computer without an actual face or personality until they decided to cast D'arcy. Given how much of the later seasons rely on Janet as a character, she literally did steal the show.

Watching this and reading the comments made me realize that the best version of Good Janet is supportive, caring, and always there for you. Meanwhile, the best version of Bad Janet is all about being a contrarian because people can't improve without being pushed and questioned. They represent two pillars of human improvement, the realization that improvement is needed and having the support to make those improvements.

There's always two. There's the one who sends just the right number of cute animal pictures that it's adorable and there's the one who sends floods of utter trash because they're trying to be as beloved as the first (and failing completely). That's why otter-Janet is a good Janet - she's on the tasteful side on this one. I guarantee that there's a rage comics Bad Janet who sends pictures of laughing Yao Ming to everything and who constantly talks about "cringe". (Cringe culture is absolutely a Bad Place trait)

Janet is the best character I have ever seen. Her character proves that you don’t necessarily need to make a character grey to make them complex or interesting. She was powerful, complex, fun and good. And hats off to the actor portraying her so well.

The more I watch this show the more I love every character. This is why it’s so good. With other shows I might love it because of one character (like in season 1 I was like “when’s the next Eleanor scene” (because I love her character) but in this season I just love everyone and every scene)

Love the camera work they had to do to never show the face of two Janets at the same time when they're touching each other. When our Janet hugs bad Janet, we only see the back of the head, because that's a different actor. It's just something you usually don't think about.
