JangleBox Compressor/Sustainer Demo 

My Rick 360-12 lacks sustain played through a clean valve amp, but the Janglebox adds great compression/sustain as well as a treble boost if needed. McGuinn's guitar was on 'Mister Tambourine Man' was recorded through studio compressors.

I found a good and less expensive alternative to the Janglebox, a Marshall ED-1 Edward The Compressor. It has similar controls, along with a Hi - Lo emphasis knob so you can tailor your tone to be treblier, bassier, or somewhere inbetween, similar to the switch on this unit.....I bought 1 last year brand new for around £27 which was a bargain. I was trying out some pedals in the Marshall range, I'd had a Bluesbreaker pedal for years and liked it so I tried out some others. They're not half bad pedals, very solidly built and are mostly very affordable 👍

The comp is not too good but the treble boost or "chime" is quite good. Noise was an issue with the original - curious as to the degree of improvement in that area.

These pedals that make your guitar sound like a Rickenbacker are EXPENSIVE as hell. Rickenbacker is probably behind this price boost.

I have a Rick 360/12 and a Vox AC-15, and I recently picked up a Roland JC-40. THAT was the tone I was looking for. It won’t improve your sustain, but the clean tone, reverb, and (especially) chorus sounds so awesome with the Rick. Super bright, clean, and, yes...Jangly.

I can't play in my British Invasion band without the Janglebox. It's different to most compressors, it's the Mersey Beat in a box

I love my Ric and my Jangle Box, but after 3 or 4 Byrds or Petty songs my ears can't take it :-)

the Rickenbacker 330/12 sounds lilke the 360/12 and costs less. IMO it also looks better without the white binding.

What amp are you playing this through? I'm buying a Rick 360-12 in about 2-3 weeks as well as a JangleBox. I'm also going to be looking at amps in a few weeks and I'm leaning towards a Fender amp due to their superior clean tones, but the AC30 is also a possibility. Interestingly enough, while The Beatles are my favorite band, I have always wanted a Rick because of Roger McGuinn. The Beatles have nothing to do with it.

Nice pedal, though the guitar is actually pronounced 'Rickenbacker', not 'barker.' The clue is in the spelling.

Very fine comp pedal here......I'd compare with my Mad professor hand wire comp someday.

When you've heard every type and brand going, from the original Ross to the Walrus Mira and Cali76, you hear how unique the JB is. If your thing is mid to lower gain, and you def want the comp before the drive section,- where a blend option is redundant, anyway,- this is your ride.I would choose other optical more modern pedals for later in the chain, but this has unique feel and heart up front. Jet City are still the best demos made.

I thought a janglebox pedal gave you a sound like a 12 string ,using a 6 string guitar ..why would you use a Riickenbacker 12 string with one ..they sound good on there own don't they ...

If you have a rick 12 string and a Vox AC 30 or 15 you don't need this pedal.
