Good lord, that chicken & dumplings looked alot better than cracker barrels! So much chicken, & that dessert looked awesome! .Yes, this is my kind of place to eat. Wow I wished I lived close to that restaurant. 😋. Thanks guys, family owned is better.

They have simple items on their menu but they were made great your meals looked awesome and I am sure they were very tasty

I ate there a few times last year while staying in Cosby. I could walk there and made it convenient. The food was really good home cooked meals.

I live close by and Janice's is definitely one of the best restaurants in the area. Never disappointed.

What a great find! I would go for the German Chocolate cake alone. My mom used to make that and I remember the box of Baker German Chocolate. You and Bobbie find the most interesting places.

I just love Janice's Diner! Whenever I hear DINER I THINK HOMEADE! The decor is so relaxed rustic. Love the dessert case right in the front. Love the Sloppy Joe and potato salad! Haven't had the sloppy Joe in awhile!!! YUM. OH John the chicken and dumplings looked homeade so I knew they would be great! Cole slaw and baked beans looked so good. But the German chocolate cake and of course the banana pudding you had to get that since the waitress made it. Wonderful place to unwind I think!

I like Sloppy Joe's, but that chicken and dumplings just looks out of sight. That is one of my favorite things to eat. I need that cake and pudding. My gosh, you did an amazing video today. So much fun to watch and envious of all that wonderful food you had. Love your Elvis purse on the backseat.

Thanks for reviewing this restaurant. I appreciate you guys catching these out of the way mom & pop places. My wife and I ate there this past Sunday afternoon, 2/25/24. We liked the atmosphere, the friendly staff and the pocket friendly prices but overall we didn't have the home run experience you guys did, not negative just not the excellent visit you guys had. I saw that the cook's wife had recently passed so I will give this visit a pass and try it again when we are back out that way. We did mention that we heard about the place on your channel and asked if they remember a husband and wife coming in playing Elvis' intro music. lol Love the channel and your authentic reviews.

Ate here many years ago with my boy who lived nearby in Newport...Very, very underrated and good!

I loved everything about this video. John you also dunked your bread in the broth so that probably didn't help lol. I've done the same with bean and bacon soup since I was a kid so I get it :) I would have ordered exactly what Bobbie did with cheese! I'm a pie girl so I would have been scouting for blueberry pie. Clean and simple plus homemade, unbelievable prices !!!!Even senior specials on top of the unbelievable prices !!! Buns should always be warmed or toasted when containing a warm food .My Mom made incredible drop dumplings. Don't know how folks can call the rolled and cut "things " dumplings !! I’ll be danged if we didn’t drive right past that place when we were going to Dollywood! We drove the Foothills parkway and it exits right in Cosby!! Oh if we had known about this place we were looking to eat! Next time we are going to stop in for sure!! I love it when you guys find these great little roadside gems!! That chicken and dumplings looked soo good it makes me want to make some! I make my own sourdough bread and it would be so good to soak up that chicken stock! I’m sorry you lost the man versus food challenge John.😂Trust me I get frustrated all of the time I can’t eat like l used to. Looking forward to my next trip to Greer SC so I can see those great Smokey mountains again!!

OMG, this looks amazing and not very expensive for good homecooking. I LOVE German Chocolate Cake, one of my favorite desserts and I love Banana Pudding too with meringue but good with whip cream too. I love chicken and dumplings. I use Anne's Frozen Dumplings and they are good but not as good as my aunt used to make with her homemade dough. I enjoy your videos so much. Thank you for sharing another one of your great videos. John, thank you so much for a bite of your banana pudding. LOL

Great video, and what a hidden gem. Love chicken and dumplings. And those looked just fantastic. The potato salad and coleslaw also looked great, and I like them on the sweet side as well. Glad you knew that the German chocolate cake was not German. I am from Germany, and the first few times when I was asked if the cake was just like it is in Germany I was confused. As I had never seen one before 😅 In Germany good old home cooking is a bit like southern cooking here. Pork, cabbage, and potato dishes are often eaten in Germany. Deserts are usually less sweet so.
