Was happy to find this clip. Jannie was always such an underrated rugby player during the nineties in South Africa. If I recall correctly, Kitch Christie wanted Jannie to be part of the 1995 Bok squad going into that years world cup. Unfortunately both him and Pieter Muller got injured in warm up games a couple months before. Inadvertently led to Joel Stransky being drafted into the squad, funny how things pan out. Also Hennie le Roux being moved to inside center was genius. Jannie never got to play more Bok games after '99 due to a bad leg injury incurred playing for the Cats super rugby side in 2000. But without him we may not have beaten England in that now legendary 99 quarterfinal. Also stronger than he looked, running over Carlos Spencer and Walter Little in a test against the kiwis in Joburg 97. Thank you for the memories.
