Haleluya Yene konjo, min largish! She came to the stage an unknown, and left it a star. At the start, despite her confidence and enthusiasm to get the audience behind her, the response was rather disappointingly mute. Honestly, a math teacher on a monday morning can get better response from his students. Unfazed, she nevertheless started jumping, stomping, twisting, dancing, and yes beautifully singing. With the refined backing of her excellent band, she rocked one of the best Ethiopian classic songs. At the end, the audience that was probably expecting her to flaunt and fail exploded both out of relief and delight. Only Aster Aweke rocks like that. Over all, excellent performance by Jano Banda!
