I made this several times during xmas and new years. My twist or rather a famouse chefs recipy. I added unsmoked fish roe to the cream. This dish is heaven.

Jansson is the perfect midnight food, with a beer or a small Aalborg Akvavit :) Always tastes better when reheated

My biggest problem with this recipe (which I very much want to try) is trying to find Swedish ansjovis or sprats to make this with. Apparently Ikea has a brand that works, but in Chicago it's remarkably hard to find them without buying them online, and shipping is very expensive due to them needing refrigeration. I'll have to make a trip to Ikea to see if I can get them there.
