Im not Mormon but Mr Holland is my absolute favorite speaker and church representative..i have watched many of his talks and really listened on youtube.. he has a very nice speaking voice and he is witty and funny i do enjoy his humor..but i like the way he explains things..his talk about liberty jail was emotional for me..i absolutely believe all of those people that suffered in all that especially the children are with our holy creator

I love these devotionals. I may be old, but what Elder and Sister Holland have said to these young adults applies to those of my generation too. I've had the privilege of speaking with Elder Holland and looking in to his eyes. I KNOW he is an Apostle of Jesus Christ, and the words which he has spoke at this devotional are the words Jesus Christ would have us hear. Thank you Elder and Sister Holland.

As a new 72 yr old convert, my heart burst with joy during this time. I finally heard that Jesus Christ has ALREADY returned to the earth and began the new Millimum 200 years ago with Prophet Joseph Smith. It has been confirming to me in joy and prayer. I went out and prayed to God in a cloudless starry-filled night at my loudest voice and hope my neighbors heard the Good News! Pray constantly, be of good cheer, Christ Jesus has returned to earth.
I love that Sister Holland shared with me to simplify. I have felt overwhelmed and like I am drowning. But if I can only remember to simplify. Simplify my food, simplify my clothes, simplify my furnishings, and simplify my schedule. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only thing that matters in this life and the life to come. Like Elder Holland said, repentance if the only way 2 piece of happiness through the hands of Our Father in Heaven and our Savior Jesus Christ , by Their Love & Mercy we will prevail, if we continue to Humble ourselves.

It is always gives us assurance of the gospel and God’s true love. I wrote down the three fundamental things that we must remember every day from sister Holland which was faith hope and charity. Thank you Sister and Elder Holland for your messages from the heart. The gospel is simple! Not easy, but it is simple. To think otherwise is from the adversary. For me, striving to live the gospel has been the most challenging thing I’ve ever done. But it’s been worth it and continues to be. Has increased my testimony and appreciation of the atonement of our Savior.
This came up on my feed and Sister Patricia Holland answered my prayers. It is a miracle. Her words were exactly what I needed to tell my Relief Society sisters in my upcoming talk, and exactly what I needed to hear for myself. I'm grateful for the church having a broadcast system to spread this information throughout the world, thank you brother and sister Holland and you're great words of wisdom in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is my second time to watch this devotional it gets better and better. I was just wondering if Moses had this technology back then, if it would of helped the Israelites and others more, even other countries. All I can say is, We Are The Chosen Generations, to strengthen to prevail the hardships of life, even in the future. We have had plenty of time to practice. The Big Race it's just ahead of us, will I perform and finish the race at 100% capacity or less then what I thought. I know there will be many casualties on the way and those who will stumble. It's a must that we grab all those who have fallen and stumbled in this great race, if it's possible. Like president Nelson has said, get closer to the Lord. Humble ourselves before your God and savior. Thank you again brother and sister Holland for that powerful life changing events with faith and love.

I love this devotional, but after years of dating in the church, I hate how much men are blamed for someone's singleness! Both men and women need to put themselves out there, flirt, and show a little more reciprocation! We all need to be agents to act! Men and women who complain about not being swept off their feet without putting fort any effort are agents waiting to be acted upon
The differences between the initial printed version of 1830, to the 1964 edition, the Book of Mormon went through 3,913 more changes. In 1986, LDS President Ezra Taft Benson denied there were any Book of Mormon changes, when he claimed: “Unlike the Bible, which passed through generations of copyists, translators, and corrupt religionists who tampered with the text, the Book of Mormon came from writer to reader in just one inspired step of translation.” (The Book of Mormon-Keystone of Our Religion, Ensign, Nov 1986, p. 4) Changes were made to the Book of Mormon after Joseph Smith changed his doctrine from Monotheism to Polytheism. I don't think he said a man is always wrong, nor do I believe you think that is what he said. Perhaps you are coming from a place of bitterness. I think his joke is coming from a place of having a partnership with his wife. The Proclamation on the Family has wise council on both a husband's and wife's role as well as the scriptural advice to love your wife as Christ loves His Church. You do this regardless of whether your wife chooses to respect and honor you. In my experience, the world tells women they want something different than this, but that goes against our natures. We want a provider and protector who loves sacrificially.

However, this statement rubbed me the wrong way as a man who works tremendously hard at being a worthy of the honorific titles of husband and fathers. Melissa, you attack him even though trigger's words were accurate to what Elder Holland said starting at 13:00 to 17:35: 16:55 Let me just say to the men in the room, and this is important, a marriage is a great continuing relationship of conversations and convictions and opinions. in those conversations, convictions, and opinions, one person is right and the other person is called a husband. If you can get that down early bretheren, it will just make life a lot smoother. The downplaying of the wisdom and worth of men happens many times in talks. It happens in sacrament meetings and stake conferences. In an effort to appeal to their wife and show how much the speaker loves his wife he lowers himself beneath his wife and places his wife on a pedestal. That's not useful. Marriage is supposed to be a healthy respect and appreciation for the character of both husband and wife. We are supposed to be kind to one another. No pedestal for either party. If a man is always wrong then she would be better off without him. When should a man stop accepting disrespect from his wife and leave the situation? If we flipped the sexes and said, "A woman should respect her husband regardless of whether he loves her and treats her tenderly," I think you would take exception to that statement. At what point would you tell her to divorce him or would you tell her to stay there for the rest of her life? You think it's a joke but it's a joke in poor taste. We should be building up men to be courageous, decisive, and strong spiritual leaders in the family not treating young adult men (part of the intended audience for this worldwide devotional) like juveniles who lack maturity. Expecting men to rise to greatness and showing them how to do it is an excellent strategy for improving the overall quality of men and the quantity of marriageable men. More marriageable men means more opportunities for more women who will be safe and happy in marriage.
