not even a very good looking fox, either - whats your guess-is it an itchy ( mangey) fox or a vixen who pulled all of her hair out ?? This was a quick edit- just didn't have time to sift through all of the footage.
It's always been a dream of mine to have a few acres and about 20 Foxhounds. Just have not been able to pull it off yet. I have less than an acre and 2 Foxhounds. We still go exploring off my property quite often, they go to bed tired every night. What I've noticed about them is that their eyesight and hearing is amazing, but their nose isn't near as acute as Beagles or Bassets I've shared my life with. If my Dogs could speak they would say "If I have the straightline speed, eyesight and hearing of a superhero, so what if my nose isn't quite up to a lazy Basset standards, I can run circles around a Basset, have you ever seen a Basset actually catch anything other than a snail?" I'd have to agree with them.
Oh the music of the hounds. Nothing better. Great hounds to hunt. Well done on the camera , normally see distant hounds hunting and barley barely audible hounds in other videos. This is always up with the action, just like being there in person. Would love to hunt this pack on horseback. Greetings from North Cork Ireland, home of the Duhallow Hunt. Keep up the wonderful videos.
Varies depending on the day . Usually start with 9-16 couple but with several new entry , and a few older hounds , we may finish with less since we might pick some up if they've been running hard for longer than they need
