Doesn’t look too bad, it’s always good when they still have green on them!

@@plantking1655 Are you trying beccariophoenix alfredii? It's a coconut relative and look a like. I get it if you aren't because it's still not a real coconut.

I have not, I've seen them around they are nice but if I can get success with coconuts I'd rather have them. They are my favorite palm tree.

@@plantking1655 I totally understand. I live in Palm Springs, CA. I have a couple of beccariophoenix alfredii. They do well in the desert. I've seen mature coconuts here so I'm trying two. I heard panama tall was the hardiest (or at least the less cold sensitive). We really don't get temps below 40F except rarely. Our issue is the days are usually 60's, nights in the 50's to 40's. Sun is always warm though. Do you have an opinion on the cold hardiest coconut variety? Thanks for the info and keep us updated on their progress.

Hmmm, my Panama does really well so far its the best, I'd love to put it in the ground but I haven't any more space currently, I may remove some trees and put it in the ground later this year if not I'll probably sell it, the reds and yellows are very cold sensitive my yellow maylan died last year. Although my red spicata is holding up very well im surprised it's alive. I may get another spicata this year to put up front I find space. The red spicata is very yellow though it's not green and the new growth won't even turn green so it's definitely suffering. The fiji isn't as tolerant as I'd like it to be but it's holding in there for sure if they make it to March we should be safe to start recovering from there on out. Hopefully no more freezes ahead we got 70s and 80s for the next week with lows of 50 and 60 so they should grow a bit this week
