A look into the backgrounds of co-founders Devin Biek and Richard Worsham and why they were inspired to start a small-displacement motorcycle company in the USA. Music by Wilson's Reservoir
I love it. Especially if it is affordable. I like the old school look, open and simplistic. No aerodynamic plastic covers. It should be a simple bike to wrench on when wrenching time comes. Simple riding pleasure.
This is just AWESOME news for those of us who love the old school motorcycles from the 1920's-1940's! A light, get around machine that fulfills the role that the DKW motorcycles of Germany used to fill. I'd love to see more designs from Janus, including cafe racer styles and others. Wonderful work guys !
Is 250cc the biggest motor you use? I'm not yalking about a 1000cc but around 500cc? There are people out there like me that likes the looks of your bike but the engine size is to small. I'm 6'5" 350...
I was absolutely 100% sold when I saw the small town, hand built, made to order fabricating process. I was a bit disappointed when I saw the engine was foreign though; it may or may not be a great engine idk but for me it took away from the excitement I had for your small town community build process. That being said; your building absolutely stunning bikes and I fell in love with them the second I saw them then even more so when I saw the video of your stories. I truly wish you well now and hopefully in the future.
There are no manufacturers of small displacement motorcycle engines in the US. If they were to make it themselves, it would most likely more than double the price of the bike.
From small town Indiana to a Janus featured episode on JAY LENO’s GARAGE. These guys are doing something right. I bet that they are being pushed to build a 400cc? Maybe a 650cc by fans of Janus. Everyone seems to want bigger like boat ownership, the Jeep, etc.
I live in Los Angeles, I would love to buy the Halcyon 250. Question though, where could I go to have the Janus motorcycle serviced or for parts? Would these motorcycles pass California emissions?
Absolutely love what you guys are doing! I will own a Janus at some point. I love different and unique. That's what led me to my old ural. Keep up the good work!!!
We just saw the video from Chad and Tara " Changing Lanes" We love what you are doing. these would be great race bikes in the USCRA and AHRMA. i hope they develop a class for these.
Talked with you guys at the 2020 Cleveland IMS yesterday. What a friendly and knowledgeable crew! This was the first I've heard of Janus Motorcycles. I immediately fell in love with the Halcyon, such a beautiful machine! Hoping to be able to pick one up in the near future. Love what you guys are doing and wish you the best!!
For an American made bike, its too British-like in design. Cafe racer comes to mind. How's 229cc considered a 250cc bike? Seeing the two little girls riding and laughing in the sidecar had put a smile on my face.
Wow a modern-day Harley and Davidson. I believe the Janus has a spirited style from the soul of the golden age of the American motorcycle in its' beginning from which took the world by storm till this day, Freedom on two wheels an essence felt so easily and so inviting because of such a barebones old school concept in build . Love the Phoenix.
I hope to have the opportunity to purchase one of these beautiful machines in the not so distant future. The concept is wonderful, the craft is thoughtful, and the riding experience appears to be empyreal.
I just wanna say I have absolutely no experience with motorcycles, but I saw one of these and fell in love. It made me want to learn to ride, and I want one so bad. I plan on getting one of these and I am so excited!
i herd and saw for some reason the key vibrates really bad ru going to change that mabe move it under seat? and do u have different front and rear sprocket options for those of us that want to change those and also i herd that you guys r going to be getting bigger engines? is that true and if so what size? please respond.
Just absolutely love what you’re doing! Creative and inspiring. I wish I would have got involved with something like this when I was young. See you in Savannah, hopefully.
@@chucklundi2198 We are very happy with the quality of our motor. It has exceeded our expectations and never let us down, even riding from San Francisco to New York city in 6 days. You can read more about why we use this engine on our blog.
The bikes look great, wish you all the luck , I understand that you make them by order and their are coasts involved, I myself would not be willing to pay the price for your bikes, you can buy a Royal Enfield for the same money get a classic bike and a lot more bike, and soon R.E. is coming out with their 650 parallel Twin, for about the same price, I do understand you are a small company with coasts involved, good luck in your business, again think your bikes look awesome!
