Garuda Eagle is an antique CG while Garuda Phoenix is built by Kyousuke Jinn for Kouya. Kyousuke mentioned during the Asian Cup that Garuda Phoenix can only use Shining Sword Breaker three times. After the third use, Garuda Phoenix will "self-destruct" meaning that it will stop functioning rather than being disintegrated (which caused Kouya to lose in the Asian Cup against Takeshi). That's what makes Garuda Phoenix more powerful than Garuda Eagle.

Yes, in the Philippines way back in 2002-2003. I recorded the Filipino version of the episode once in a VHS (ABS-CBN). To tell you the truth, I censored out Kouya's crying in this episode as well as the disintegration of Garuda Eagle since I saw the scenes in the English version and it scared the hell outta me!
