Belladonna... I will offer my blue and transparent skin tomorrow out of love. Beneath the flower of spring, my body is dyed with timid redness in her arms. Belladonna. Beautiful woman. Belladonna. Woman in love. The footsteps of grief, do not yet resonate. Belladonna.
Ofreceré mi piel azul y transparente Mañana, por amor. Bajo la flor de primavera Mi cuerpo está teñido De tímida rojez* en sus brazos. Belladonna, mujer hermosa. Belladonna, mujer enamorada. Los pasos del duelo aún no resuenan.
Also where did you get this translation? I'm planning on making a video of this song with subtitles but I can't find any complete translation of this to english, not even the Japanese lyrics.

If you like "Belladonna of Sadness," then you might like the art of the Japanese artist, Nanaco Yashiro. She will be having her US debut exhibition on July 15th, 2022 at Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, California.

This song isn't actually by Masahiko Sato. It's by Asei Kobayashi and Mayumi Tachibana. The album release on Finders Keepers Records does not include this song, for that specific reason.
YESSS A film festival with forgotten masterpieces from the 70s Also let’s reintroduce Kaze no Ki No Uta Doesn’t have anything to do with it besides the 70s and the anime is bad, but the manga is so wonderful Totally recommend
Kanashimi no Belladonna - Mayumi Tachibana. Belladone.

this film scared me lol. been years since I've seen it and I still remember its intensity. which is bizarre considering this whole film is practically a slideshow of watercolors. the sound design is incredibly haunting too

@@user-bk8qv4lv6o The record label (Finders Keepers) that released the soundtrack along with the DVD and the Blu-ray said that they deliberately left out the opening song as well as its instrumental version because it was composed and performed by Asei Kobayashi and Mayumi Tachibana, and they only wanted the music written by Masahiko Satō on the OST CD. A pity, really...
I remember watching it after a late night study session to make me sleepy and fell asleep and woke up at the part where she finally gives in to the devil (the org* scene) was on and I felt like i was hallucinating lol. It's a really good movie tho, very beautiful!
Can anyone explain for me, why she stuck with that demon who controlled her? Her saddness and her husband ignoring what those elements effect on the devil she stuck with..
One reading of the film is that the devil is more of a metaphor for Jeanne embracing her sexuality and the revolutionary power of female sexual expression. In the beginning of the film the devil said that he was a part of her. And in this reading her embracing the devil is Jeanne fully coming into her own power as a woman. Near the end of the film it’s made clear that she still loves Jean and wishes to be with him. The sadness comes as part of this films meditation on how women are both demonized and vilified for their sexual expression while in other situations they are revered and celebrated.
