Japan 2014 - Riding The Rails 

We travel to Japan with a friend who once lived there. With his knowledge we had an excellent time with no language difficulties. We visited temples, shrines and castles along our route that took us from Tokyo west to the Sea of Japan and then south to Osaka. In Kyoto we visit many historic sights. It's then off to Hiroshima before heading back to Tokyo. All of our travel was by railroad and we rode on nearly every type of train. The rail system is absolutely amazing and well engineered. The number of commuter trains in Tokyo alone is mind altering. Anyone interested in riding trains will be utterly amazed at the variety we encountered.
